Saharawi President to Milenio: only solution to Western Sahara conflict lies in organization of referendum for independence

Mexico City, Dec 3, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz has declared “the only solution to the Western Sahara conflict lies in the organization of a referendum to enable the Saharawi people to freely choose their destiny,” in a statement to the Mexican newspaper “Milenio”.

Lisboan, Dec 3, 2012 (SPS) - A delegation of the Frente POLISARIO, led by the Minister for Europe Mr. Mohamed Sidati and include Representative to Portugal Mr. Mohamed Yahdih, is participating at the 19th congress of the Communist Party of Portugal, at the invitation of the Party’s leadership.


The delegation was received by officials in the Part, who took the opportunity to reiterate their solidarity and support to just demands of the Saharawi people for freedom, self-determination and independence.

President of Republic concludes official visit to Mexico

Mexico, Dec 02; 2012 (SPS) - President of the Republic and Secretary General of Polisario Front Mohamed Abdelaziz has attended on Saturday the official inauguration of Mexican President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto, took place at National Place in  Mexico City.

 

After taking the oath of office in Congress’ Chamber of Deputies, President Peña Nieto addressed the country at the National Palace before a room pack.

 

Saharawi students demand UN observer status for Western Sahara

El Aaiun (occupied territories), Dec 2, 2012 (SPS) - A group of Saharawi students of Al-Khansaa’s primary school, occupied city of El Aaiun, organized peaceful vigils to demanded a UN observer status for Western Sahara, as the Palestinian state, and to call for the right of Saharawi people to self-determination, informed a Saharawi rights source.


Moroccan occupying forces violently intervened against them, the source said.

Spanish MP urges Government to support Western Sahara’s membership at UN

Mexico: reception ceremony on honour of Saharawi President

Mexico City (Mexico), Dec 1, 2012 (SPS) - The Mexican Association of Solidarity with the Saharawi People, in collaboration with the SADR Embassy in Mexico, organized a reception ceremony on honour of the President Mohamed Abdelaziz, visiting Mexico to attend inauguration of the new President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto.


The ceremony was attended by members of the Mexican House of Senates and Representatives, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Mexico.

During the official opening of the Congress, H.E. Hifikepunye Pohamba, President of SWAPO and the Republic of Namibia, welcomed the Saharawi delegation.

Ambassador to Uganda briefs young Africans on situation in Western Sahara

Kampala, Dec 1, 2012 (SPS) - The Ambassador to Uganda Mr. Habib Mahfud Boukhreis briefed Saturday a group of young Africans participated at the African Committee meeting of International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY), to be held in Kampala this week, during a panel discussion on the Arab spring, governance and democracy.


The panel discussion also attended by the Professor Nyanja Musoke, Lecturer at the University of Kampala Makerere and the political analyst Sammy Gwada Ogot.
