Swedish Parliament urges government to urgently recognize SADR

Stockholm (Sweden) Dicember06, 2012(SPS) the parliament of Sweden has urged its government to urgently recognize the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), in a resolution adopted on Wednesday by the Majority of this Swedish legislative institution.

The parliament has adopted this resolution which offered by the Committee of Foreign affairs and the Parliament devoted a special meeting to study and adopt this resolution.

“The committee’s view regarding West Sahara is that Sweden should urgently recognize the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (West Sahara) as a free and independent state.”  The Committee said and “the parliament should officially endorse what the committee has stated” the resolution of the Parliament confirmed

“Sweden should also work for this within the EU.” It recommended.
 

After this adoption the Swedish Association of Solidarity with the Saharawi people welcomed this decision

Saying in a statement that it “means many things for a people who lives for more than 37 years under Moroccan oppression and divided between refugee camps and liberated territories and occupied territories”
 

“This might give to the youth Saharawi who feels disappointed in the Western World and in the United Nations, a new hope in a referendum and a political Solution.” The Association added.(SPS)
