Tifariti (liberated territories), Dec 19, 2011 (SPS) - Member of the Political Bureau of the Algerian National Liberation Front, Mr. Sadek Bougataya, affirmed Sunday that Algeria’s position “based on firm and solid belief on the legitimacy of the Saharawi people’s cause,” renewing the adherence of Algeria to support the Saharawi cause, in an intervention within the Polisario 13th Congress.

Envoy of Ugandan President calls on international community not to utilize double standards on Saharawi cause

Tifariti (liberated territories), Dec 19, 2011 (SPS) - Envoy of the Ugandan President, Kintu Nyago, called Sunday from the liberated territory of Tifariti on the international community not to utilize the double standards when dealing with the Saharawi cause, in a speech before the delegates at the POLISARIO 13th Congress.

“Colonialism is a human crime which must be condemned,” said Nyago, appealing to the International Court of Justice to take those Moroccans, who commit human rights abuses in occupied Western Sahara, to trail.

ANC renews solidarity with the Saharawi people

Tifariti (liberated territories), Dec 19, 2011 (SPS) - Representative of the African National Congress (ANC), Dumisahi Job, reiterated solidarity with the Saharawi people, in a letter addressed to the delegates of the Polisario 13th Congress taking place in liberated Tifariti.

“We cannot, as we celebrate the centenary of NTC’s establishment, accept repression and occupation in all its forms,” said Dumisahi, referring to the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara, reiterating continuation to accompany the Saharawi people until achieving freedom and independence.

Tifariti (liberated territories), Dec 18, 2011 (SPS) - Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, received Sunday in Tifariti Spanish delegations taking part at the Polisari Front congress.

 

Prime Minister informed his guests about the last updates concerning the Saharawi cause particularly human rights violations in occupied territories as well as EP refusal to extend EU-Morocco fishing agreement.

 

Austrian MP welcomes EP's refusal to extend fishing agreement with Morocco

Vienna (Austria), December 17, 2011 (SPS) MEP and Member of  Human Rights Commission at Austrian parliament, Petra Bayer, welcomed Friday the European Parliament's refusal to extend the EU- Morocco fisheries agreement, which includes the territorial waters of Western Sahara, according to a statement received by SPS.

 

Austrian MP underlined that "any extension of this agreement is immoral and not in accordance with international legitimacy, because it harms EU reputation ."

 

Polisario Thirteenth Congress: commencement of committees’ work

Tifariti (liberated territories), Dec 17, 2011 (SPS) - Work of the committees emerging from the Polisario 13th Congress commenced Saturday morning, where they started to examine the proposals presented by the delegates during the political seminars and included within the documents presented by the Preparatory Committee.

In the occupied territories committee, delegates focused on the ways to support and advance the uprising in the Saharawi occupied territories through framing the Saharawi element in order to be able to adapt with changing circumstances.
