Algeria, Mali reiterate support to UN resolutions about Western Sahara

Algiers. september12, 2011(SPS) Algeria and Mali reiterated their support, Sunday in Algiers, to UN Security Council resolutions which reaffirm the self-determination right of the Sahara people, according to a communiqué concluded   the work of the 11th session of the Joint Cooperation Committee between Algeria and Mali, the APS reported Sunday.

The two sides reiterated their "commitment to support the implementation of relevant resolutions of the Security Council reaffirming the right to self-determination of Western Sahara people,"(SPS)

The European Youth Caravan for Western Sahara will hold Wednesday, a sit-in outside the European Parliament

 Shahid Al Hafed, September 11, 2011 (SPS) The "European Youth Caravan for Western Sahara" will hold next Wednesday, a sit-in outside the headquarters of the European Parliament in Strasbourg to denounce violations of human rights committed by the Morocco in Western Sahara and to protest against the signing of the agreement between the EU and Morocco including the Saharawi territorial waters, according to the organizers of the caravan.

Italian donation to fight malnutrition in Sahrawi refugee camps

The contribution that the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made ​​available to the World Food Program (WFP) is part of a plan for 2011for the Saharawi refugees.

New Sahrawi Ambassador presents his credentials to President of Zimbabwe

Harare (Zimbabwe), September 9, 2011 (SPS) - The new Saharawi ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe Mr. Daish Mohammed Saleh, presented Thursday his credentials to the president, Mr. Robert Mugabe.

 

On the occasion, President Mugabe affirmed the clear position of the Republic of Zimbabwe regarding the decolonization of the African continent and the Western Sahara in partiular, referring to the deep bonds of friendship between the two governments and peoples, Sahrawi and Zimbabwe.

 

Sahrawi Ambassador presents his credentials to Ghanaian President

Accra (Ghana), September 9, 2011 (SPS) - Mr. Mahjoub Sidina presented Thursday his credentials to President of the Republic of Ghana,Mr. John Evans Atta Mills, as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

 

During the ceremony at the presidential headquarters, the President ofthe Republic of Ghana expressed solidarity with the Saharawi people,stressing the importance of opening an Embassy of the Sahrawi Republic in this friendly country.

 

Sahrawi government refutes that members of MINURSO were attacked by Sahrawi army units

Bir Lahlou, September 9, 2011 (SPS) – The Sahrawi government has denied what was reported Thursday in Al Quds Al Arabi newspaper, quoting Moroccan newspaper Al Messa, that “members of the UN mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), monitoring cease-fire in the region of Bir Lahlou, were attacked by Sahrawi army units," in a statement issued by the Ministry of Information.

 

Polisario Front calls on UN to assume its responsibilities in decolonization of Western Sahara

British civil society representatives call on Prime Minister for respect of cease-fire in Western Sahara

South Sudan to move capital to Ramciel

Juba (South Sudan) Sept 4, 2011 - The government of newly-independent South Sudan has decided to relocate its capital from Juba to a more central location in Lakes state, a senior official said on Sunday.

"The council of ministers has decided that the capital city will be relocated from Juba," the government's secretary general Abdon Agaw told AFP, adding the new capital would be located in Ramciel, in Lakes state.

Benghazi, August 31, 2011 (SPS) - The President of the Libyan Transitional National Council (TNC), Mustafa Abdeljalil, denied Tuesday any presence of elements of the Polisario Front in Libya, in response to a question about allegations disseminated lately by Moroccan media, claiming the  Council  arrested some 556 members of Polisario Front, during a press  conference in Benghazi.
