Italian donation to fight malnutrition in Sahrawi refugee camps

Rome, September 10,2011 (SPS) Italy has granted a donation of 200,000 Euros for the fight against malnutrition in the Saharawi refugee camps, as learn Saturday in Rome.

The contribution that the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made ​​available to the World Food Program (WFP) is part of a plan for 2011for the Saharawi refugees.

The program, called "Assistance to refugees from Western Sahara", is activated by WFP and is intended to provide nutritional support for the Saharawis and to "give urgent attention to acute malnutrition, which, according to recent studies has recorded very high rates, especially among children less than five years.”
