Moroccan Association for Human Rights delivers new blow to Moroccan regime regarding Western Sahara

Rabat, December 26, 2024 (SPS) - The Moroccan Association for Human Rights confirmed that the statement by its president, Aziz Ghali, supporting the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination aligns with the historical positions of the Association and does not contradict the positions of the United Nations or the Moroccan state.

The Association condemned the escalating and relentless campaign against it and against the right to freedom of opinion and expression.

UESARIO Secretary General receives student delegation from Algeria

Shaheed El Hafed, December 26, 2024 (SPS) - The Secretary General of the Sahrawi Student Union (UESARIO), Khalihena Ghazwani, received a student delegation from Algeria representing the National Voice of Algerian Students, who are on a visit to the institutions of the Sahrawi state.

During the meeting, which took place at the regional club of Wilaya of Auserd, Khalihena Ghazwani praised Algeria's principled and steadfast position regarding the just Sahrawi cause, stemed from principles of the glorious November 1st Revolution.

Morocco: Activist supporting Sahrawi people's right to self-determination detained

Rabat (Morocco), December 25, 2024 (SPS) – Moroccan security forces have detained human rights activist and politician Jawad Al-Hamidi in the city of Agadir, in the south of Morocco, due to his political positions and rejection of the occupation of Western Sahara by his country, along with his fight for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination.

Saharawi civilian prisoner goes on hunger strike

Occupied El-Aaiun, December 25, 2024 (SPS) - Saharawi civilian prisoner Abdullah Walid Ahmed Lakhefawni, a member of the Gdeim Izik group, is going on a warning hunger strike for 48 hours on Thursday and Friday, at the central prison in Kenitra, north of Rabat, Morocco.

This action comes in response to his denial of access to justice, according to information received by the Saharawi Prisoners’ Protection Association.

Swedish Cyclists: Journey by bicycle aims to raise awareness of struggles of Sahrawi people

Wilaya of Boujdour, December 24, 2024 (SPS) - The Swedish cyclists in solidarity with the Sahrawi people highlighted that their cycling tour, which has lasted over two years and covered 25 countries, aims to raise awareness about the situation in occupied Western Sahara and support the Sahrawi struggle.

In a statement to the Sahrawi News Agency (SPS) , the cyclists added that the journey also seeks to shed light on the last colony in Africa and expose the extent of human rights violations faced by the Sahrawi people at the hands of Moroccan occupation.

Swedish solidarity activists receive warm welcome in Wilaya of Boujdour

Wilaya of Boujdour, December 24, 2024 (SPS) - The people of the Wilaya of Boujdour has welcomed the Swedish solidarity activists Benjamin Ladraa and  Sanna Ghotbi as part of their solidarity journey aimed at raising awareness about the Sahrawi cause.

The event was attended by the governor of the Wilaya , accompanied by the Council, as well as the member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario front , Minister of Youth and Sports, members of the Sahrawi National Council, and a delegation from Tindouf led by the Director of Youth and Sports.

Wilaya of Awsard hosts Sahrawi Social Solidarity Forum

Shaheed Al-Hafed, December 24, 2024 (SPS) -  The Wilaya of Awsard is hosting the activities of the Sahrawi Social Solidarity Forum, with the participation of more than 200 participants, including local and international stakeholders, among them a youth delegation from Algeria.

The forum, which will last for two days, is scheduled to take place from December 27 to 28, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the Central Directorate of Youth.

Sahrawi Republic wins silver medal at African workers' games in Dakar

Dakar (Senegal), December 23, 2024 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic won the silver medal in the 10,000 meters on Sunday during the competitions of the African Workers' Games held in Dakar.

Sheikh Sidi Al Taleb secured second place in the race, marking the first medal for the Sahrawi Republic at the African Games, finishing behind Algerian Mehdi Thabet, who won the gold medal.

SPLA units target Moroccan occupation army base in Guelta sector

Bir Lahlu (Liberated Territories), December 22, 2024 (SPS) - A military statement issued by the Central Directorate of Political Commissariat of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) indicated that advanced detachments of SPLA carried out focused shelling targeting a base of the Royal Army in the Ashrak Taurtah area of the Guelta sector.

The attacks by the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army continue, causing heavy losses in lives and equipment among the ranks of the Moroccan occupation army.

International Association of Friends of Algerian Revolution reaffirms right of Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence

Algiers, December 22, 2024 (SPS) - The International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution reaffirmed the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence during its second session held at the Aurassi Hotel in Algiers.

Mr. Nourredine Joudi, President of the International Association of Friends of the Algerian Revolution, stated that the Association, based on the principles of the November Revolution, will remain committed to supporting the rights of peoples, particularly the Sahrawi and Palestinian causes.

Swedish activists supporting Sahrawi cause arrive in Tindouf

Tindouf (Algeria), December 22, 2024 (SPS) - Swedish activists Benjamin Ladria and Sana Qatbi, who support the Sahrawi cause, arrived last night in Tindouf as part of their solidarity journey with the Sahrawi people by bicycle.

They were welcomed at the entrance of Tindouf by civil society organizations, citizens, and a group of youth.

French city of Meru hosts an intellectual conference on European Court of Justice ruling

Meru (France), December 21, 2024 (SPS) - The city of Meru, located near the French capital Paris, has hosted an intellectual conference regarding the recent ruling by the European Court of Justice that invalidated the agreement between the European Union and Morocco.

The conference was organized by the Sahrawi Youth Association in France in collaboration with the Ahmed Baba Miska Research Center, with the presence of representatives from the communities in France and a significant number of youth and activists.

President Brahim Ghali chairs closed meeting of General Staff of Army

The meeting, held at the Ministry of National Defense, discussed the annual program for the National Defense Ministry for 2024-2025.

Saharawi activist dies due to consequences of torture she endured at hands of Moroccan regime's executioners

Shaheed El Hafed, 21 December 2024 (SPS) - Saharawi activist Aeika SidAhmed Alaalam passed away yesterday, Friday, due to the consequences of the torture she endured at the hands of the Moroccan regime's executioners during her years of detention.

The Saharawi National Commission for Human Rights (CNSDH) issued a statement expressing condolences for the loss of the activist, who was held and disappeared in Moroccan prisons for years.

A military statement issued by the Central Directorate for Political Commissariat of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army indicated that advanced SPLA units carried out concentrated strikes today, Friday, targeting Moroccan enemy bases in the Umhibis area of the Mahbes sector.

Permanent Representative to Ethiopia and African Union receives AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security

The meeting allowed for discussions on the political situation in Africa, the prospects for bilateral relations, and ways to strengthen and enhance them to meet the aspirations of the continent's peoples for a safe and prosperous Africa under the banner of peace and progress.

Zimbabwe's foreign minister reaffirms his country's unconditional support for Sahrawi people's right to self-determination

This statement was made in a response letter to the congratulations sent to him by Mr. Mohamed Sidati, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and a member of the National Secretariat, on the occasion of his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe.
