Dakar (Senegal), December 23, 2024 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic won the silver medal in the 10,000 meters on Sunday during the competitions of the African Workers' Games held in Dakar.

Sheikh Sidi Al Taleb secured second place in the race, marking the first medal for the Sahrawi Republic at the African Games, finishing behind Algerian Mehdi Thabet, who won the gold medal.

The Sahrawi Federation for Sport and Labor joined the African Federation for Sport and Labor in 2019 and participated in the first edition of the African Games in Algeria, where it won four gold medals in table tennis, one silver medal in doubles tennis, and two bronze medals in men's and women's volleyball, it should be recalled.
