Algerian Parliamentarians' Association calls on international community to accelerate self-determination for Sahrawi people

Algeria, December 26, 2024 (SPS) - The Algerian Parliamentarians' Association reaffirmed its support and solidarity with the Sahrawi people, urging the international community to expedite the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence.

This statement came during a solidarity visit by the President of the Algerian Parliamentarians' Association, Mr. Mustafa Kahlish, accompanied by members of the executive office of the association, to the Sahrawi embassy in Algeria, where they were received by the National Secretariat member and ambassador to Algeria, Abdelkader Taleb Omar.

The President of the Algerian Parliamentarians' Association explained that this visit expresses the bonds of brotherhood and support for the Sahrawi people and their just cause, rooted in the values and principles of the Algerian revolution, which has always stood by the liberation struggles of peoples around the world.

For his part, the ambassador welcomed the Association's president and members, praising this solidarity initiative that the Algerian civil society has consistently shown as sincere support for the Sahrawi people, reminding them of the steadfast positions of Algeria, both people and government, in solidarity with the just struggle of the Sahrawi people to reclaim their rights to freedom and independence.
