SPLA carries out new attacks against positions of Moroccan occupation forces in Mahbes sector

Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), 17 February 2024 (SPS) - Advanced units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) targeted Friday rear bases of the Moroccan occupation army in the occupied town of Mahbes.

The enemy's positions in the Skikima area in the Mahbes sector were also targeted.

The attacks of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army continue, targeting various enemy positions and rear bases, which have suffered significant losses in terms of lives and equipment.

Minister of Public Health received by Ethiopian health officials

Addis Ababa, 16 February 2024 (SPS) - The Minister of Public Health, Mr. Salek Baba Hassena, was received today, Friday, by officials from the Ethiopian Ministry of Health.

The Minister, who was accompanied by Tekber Qaed Saleh, in charge of  African Union affairs at the Ministry of Public Health,  visited health facilities in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

Polisario condemns Moroccan invitation to visit Western Sahara

Geneva, 16 February 2024 (SPS) - The Polisario Front condemned, on Tuesday, the invitation by the Moroccan occupation of 14 ambassadors accredited to the United Nations in Geneva to visit occupied Western Sahara, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter, which considers the Sahrawi territory as non-self-governing until decolonization.

President Brahim Ghali received by his Irish counterpart

Dublin (Ireland), February 15, 2024 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, was received by his Irish counterpart, Mr. Michael Daniel Higgins, at the Presidential Palace.

During the meeting, which comes within the framework of a visit that leads President Brahim Ghali to Ireland, developments in the Sahrawi issue were discussed, as well as prospects for future work, especially in the field of solidarity in Ireland, Europe and the rest of the world.

Sahrawi civilian prisoners go on a hunger strike in Ait Melloul prison

Ait Melloul (Morocco) February 15, 2024 (SPS) - Sahrawi civilian prisoners within the Gdeim Izik group, who are in the prison of Ait Melloul 2, city of Agadir, began today a 48-hour hunger strike.

According to what was reported by the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners, the Sahrawi civilian prisoners Mohamed Ahnini El-Rouh Bani, Brahim Daddi Ismaili, and Sid Ahmed Fraji Lamjeid went on hunger strike due to the numerous humiliating and aggressive treatment they were subjected by Moroccan authorities in the prison of Ait Melloul 2.

The Sahrawi Republic denounces Moroccan displacement campaigns against Sahrawi citizens

Addis Ababa, February 15, 2024 (SPS)- The Member of the National Secretariat and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Sidati, denounced in his intervention before the 44th ordinary session of the Executive Council of the African Union, the forced displacement and deportation campaigns launched by the Moroccan occupation authorities against Sahrawi citizens in the occupied territories of the Sahrawi Republic.

The President of the Republic embarks on a visit to the Republic of Ireland

Dublin (Ireland), February 15, 2024 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, embarked yesterday, Wednesday, on a visit to the Republic of Ireland.

In the first leg of the visit, the presidential delegation held a series of meetings with both chambers of the Irish Parliament, representatives of various political and trade union formations, civil society and the solidarity movement.

Boujdour, February 14, 2024 (SPS)- The Secretary-General of the Sahrawi Women's Union, Mrs. Shaba Sini Embarek, received a delegation from the Swedish organization “Björkåfrihet”, at the headquarters of the Sahrawi Women's Union in the Wilaya of Boujdour.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Sahrawi Women’s Union provided the delegation with explanations about the establishment of the Women’s organization and its objectives within the framework of promoting Sahrawi women’s presence at all levels, politically, economically and socially.

Sahrawi Republic participates in opening of judicial year of African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights

Shaheed Hafed, 12 February  2024 (SPS) - The President of the Sahrawi Constitutional Council, Mr. Mohamed Mazine, participated via videoconference in the opening of the judicial year of the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights, which was held at its headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

The opening ceremony included welcoming remarks from a number of African legal bodies, including the presidents of constitutional councils, judges, and lawyers representing their countries.

Valencia (Spain), 11 February 2024 (WAS) - The authorities in the Spanish city of Valencia have begun organizing several awareness-raising activities for the benefit of Sahrawi children as part of the preparation for the "Holidays in Peace" program in the summer of 2024. The organizers hope to increase the number of host families involved with the Sahrawi people and their just cause.

Minister of Public Health received by Algerian Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production

Algiers, 11 February 2024 (SPS) - Mr. Salek Baba Hassena, Minister of Public Health, was received today, Sunday,  at the headquarters of the Algerian Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production by Mr. Ali Aoun, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two ministries in the areas of medicines, pharmaceutical production, training and continuing education for Sahrawi specialists, developing the drug production laboratory and supporting it with basic raw materials.

Conflict in Western Sahara has "gone on long enough"

Algiers, 10 February 2024 (SPS) -The Unites States (US) Ambassador to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, said that the conflict in Western Sahara had "gone on long enough", recalling that Washington backs the settlement of the conflict "within the framework of the United Nations and through the work of the UN SG's personal envoy, Staffan de Mistura.”

The ambassador said in an interview with the Algerian newspapers “Al-Watan” and "Al-Khabar," “This conflict has continued for a long enough time. 47 years is a long time for the Sahrawi people.”
