Sahrawi army targets an enemy base in the Mahbas sector

Bir Lahlou (liberated territories), February 21, 2024 (SPS) - Sahrawi People's Liberation Army units targeted a military base of the occupation army in the Mahbas sector, causing heavy losses in lives and equipment.

The military communiqué issued on Tuesday highlighted that advanced units of SPLA carried out concentrated bombardment targeting a Moroccan base hostile in the Laagad area in the Mahbas sector, causing heavy losses.

The attacks of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army continue, targeting the burrows and hideouts of the Moroccan army.

Goethe University of Frankfurt organizes a symposium on "Resistance and Settlement Colonialism" in Western Sahara

berlin , February 21, 2024 (SPS) - The University of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe of Frankfurt (Germany) will host a multidisciplinary meeting on Western Sahara from the 25th to the 27th of this month.  The conference  coincides with the celebrations of the Saharawi people for the 48th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).

Algeria, February 20, 2024 (SPS) - The Algerian Minister of Health, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi, received the Sahrawi Minister of Public Health, Mr. Salek Baba Hasanna, accompanied by the Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria and a member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar.

The meeting discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and the prospects for their development, especially in the field of health, where the Algerian Minister of Health expressed full readiness to provide support and assistance in this regard.

Caracas (Venezuela), February 20, 2024 (SPS) - African women renewed their support and solidarity with Sahrawi women on the occasion of Sahrawi Mother’s Day, which coincides with February 18th.

Sahrawi women received fraternal messages full of support and solidarity from women’s organizations from the Republic of South Africa, Zambia, Benin and the Coordination of the Global Women’s March in Africa. These organizations expressed their support for the heroic struggle of the Sahrawi women for freedom and independence.

Ait Melloul, February 20, 2024 (SPS) - The family of the Sahrawi civilian prisoner within the Gdeim Izik group, Ibrahim Daddi Ismaili, who is in the local prison of Ait Melloul 2, city of Agadir, Morocco, reported on Monday to the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners that Ibrahim Daddi Ismaili, had undergone a severe health condition deterioration that required his urgent transfer to the hospital.

The Polisario Front considered the recent statements of the Spanish Foreign Minister as lacking convincing foundations, especially when discussing the Sahrawi refugee camps, with the intent to sow doubts and undermine the global solidarity movement with the Sahrawi people.

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), February 17, 2024 (SPS) - The Ambassador in charge of Africa, Mr. Mohamed Yeslim Beissat, expressed the regret of the Sahrawi Republic for the African Peace and Security Council's report ignoring the seriousness of the deterioration of political, security and military relations in the North African region.

In a speech before the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union, the Ambassador stressed that this deterioration is mainly due, "in our case, to the illegal occupation of parts of the Sahrawi Republic by the Kingdom of Morocco."

CODESA: Moroccan crimes of eviction and displacement of Sahrawis as a prelude to widespread settlement

Occupied El-Aaiún, 17 February 2024 (SPS) - The Committee for the Protection of Sahrawi Civilian of the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA) condemned the continuing acts of eviction, forced displacement, and seizure of properties belonging to Sahrawi civilians in the occupied territories by the Moroccan occupation forces, as a prelude to a wide-scale settlement.
