48th anniversary of Polisario Front creation: International support to Sahrawi people’s struggle

Pretoria, 23 May 2021 (SPS) - The signatories to an international Declaration (Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean) expressed their strong support to the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in their fight to recover their sovereignty over the Sahrawi territory, calling to take an active part in the first tri-continental meeting of solidarity with the Sahrawi people, scheduled for December in Algiers.

Morocco fails to induce European nations to legitimize occupation of Western Sahara

Paris (France), 22 May 2021 (SPS) - Polisario Front representative in Paris, Mohamed Sidati,, said Saturday that Morocco "has experienced a spectacular failure in its attempt to incite European nations to legitimize the occupation of Western Sahara," warning against Rabat's political blackmail against the countries supporting the decolonization of the last colony in Africa.

La Rioja hosts conference in support of Sahrawi people

La Rioja (Spain), 10 May  2021 (SPS) -The participants of the 25th anniversary of the European Parliament Intergroup Peace for the Sahrawi People on Saturday called for the organization of a self-determination referendum to end the conflict in Western Sahara.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the conference took place in one day with in camera working sessions.
Two conferences on the legal and social framework of Western Sahara were held in the morning.

Permanent Office holds meeting to discuss current developments related to national cause

The Permanent Office took note of the positive development and continuous improvement of the health status of President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.

Bogotá hosts a conference on Western Sahara

Bogotá (Colombia), May 5, 2021 (SPS) -This Wednesday a conference will be held in the Colombian capital of Bogotá on Western Sahara, in which legal and historical issues related to the conflict in Africa's last colony will be discussed.
The conference, which will be organized under the title "Western Sahara: the last colony of Africa", will be led by experts and academics who will address details about the last vestiges of colonialism on the African continent.

SPLA continues its attacks against the positions of Moroccan occupation forces along the wall of shame

Bir Lahlou, 3 May 2021 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) continued their attacks targeting the entrenchments of the Moroccan occupying forces, along the berm, said the military communiqué No. 172 of the Sahrawi Ministry of Defense.
According to the communiqué, "SPLA units have continued for the 172nd consecutive day their attacks against the positions of the Moroccan occupation forces in the sectors of El Beggara and Mahbes.

The Washington Post criticizes recognition of Morocco's alleged sovereignty over Western Sahara

Washington, 03 May 2021 (SPS) -  The American daily, the Washington Post, has noted that one of the most delicate foreign policy problems inherited by the Biden administration is the reckless recognition by former President Donald Trump in December of Morocco's alleged sovereignty over occupied Western Sahara busy.
According to the newspaper, it was a move that overturned long-standing US policy and put Washington at odds with European allies, African nations and UN resolutions.

Frente POLISARIO’s Representative at the United Nations, Dr Sidi Omar, sent a letter on April 29 to the Heads of Permanent Missions to the UN in which he refutes the allegations contained in recent letters circulated by Morocco’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations and reported by Moroccan official media.
 

Morocco leads "blackmail" campaign against Spain to undermine Sahrawi cause

Madrdi, April 29, 2021 (SPS) - Morocco is leading a campaign of provocation and blackmail against Spain to undermine the Sahrawi cause and push Madrid to rebel against international legitimacy, said on Wednesday the Frente POLISARIO representative in Spain, Abdullah Arabi.
"The campaign led by Morocco against Spain which welcomed the Sahrawi president Brahim Gali for treatment, is part of the policy of provocation which characterizes the bilateral relations between the two countries," Abdullah Arabi added in a statement to APS.
