President Gali welcomes President Tebboune’s “clear, frank” positions

Algiers,June 11, 2021 (SPS) -  President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO Brahim Gali welcomed “the clear and frank” positions of the Algerian State and its President Abdelmadjid Tebboune vis-à-vis the Sahrawi cause.
President Gali received at the Army’s Central Hospital Mohamed-Seghir-Nekkache of Ain Naadja (Algiers) Sahrawi Prime Minister Bouchraya Hamoudi Beyoun who went to see him. President Gali’s health is clearly improving.

Minister of Health meets with her Algerian counterpart to discuss ways of collaboration

Algiers, June 10, 2021 (SPS) - The Minister of Public Health, Ms. Jira Bulahi, met this Wednesday with her Algerian counterpart, Mr. Abderrahm Bin Buzeid, to examine ways of collaboration and support for the Saharawi people, particularly in the current circumstances characterized by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In statements made to the SPS, Minister Bulahi said that "the talks also addressed various issues related to the health situation in the Saharawi refugee camps and the help that can be provided to face the COVID-19 pandemic."

Spain-Morocco crisis has shown Western Sahara conflict is matter of decolonization

Algiers, 10 June 2021 (SPS)-The recent crisis between Spain and Morocco has shown that the Sahrawi conflict is a matter of uncompleted decolonization, said Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) to Colombia Mah Lahdid in an article published on the Algerian online newspaper La Patrie News.

Pentagon again denies the holding of military exercises in the Sahrawi territories

Washigton, June 08, 2021 (SPS) - The Pentagon has once again denied the holding in Sahrawi territories of part of the "African Lion 2021" military exercises which kicked off yesterday.
According to a statement from the Pentagon, the African Lion 2021 military maneuvers organized in partnership with Morocco, will take place at the Kenitra air base in the north in Tan Tan and at the Grier Labouihi training complex, in Moroccan territories.

Arancha González Laya warns that Spain position in Western Sahara "is anchored in inalienable principles"

Madrid (Spain), June 9, 2021 (SPS) - During the control session of the Government of Spain in the Congress of Deputies, Arancha González Laya, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, has warned that the position of her country in relation to Western Sahara and the unfinished decolonization process is a “State policy” that has been constant and has not changed “for a simple reason, because it is anchored in inalienable principles such as the defense of multilateralism and respect for international legality ”.

New Sahrawi Ambassador to Timor-Leste presents copy of credential letters

Dili (Timor-Leste), 9 June 2021 (SPS) - The New Saharawi (S.A.D.R.) Ambassador designate to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Mr. Abba Malainin, has presented Wednesday a copy of his credentials letter to Mr. Jose Antonio Amorim Dias, Director- General of the Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, whom he welcomed the new Saharawi ambassador and wished him all the success in his duties.
Both officials reviewed the excellent historical bilateral relations and advocated its further development.

Marches in support of Sahrawi people in Spain’s different regions

Madrid, 7 June 2021 (SPS) - Marches in support of the Sahrawi people are being held in different regions of Spain during the month of June to denounce the international community’s neglect of the conflict in Western Sahara and the Spanish government’s complicity with the Moroccan occupation system. 
The March for the Sahrawi people’s freedom started on 19 May in different places in Spain to arrive Sunday in Santander and finally converge on Madrid on 19 June. 

Moroccan occupation authorities refer Sahrawi media activist Yahdih Essabi to prison after undergoing interrogation

Occupied Dakhla, June 07, 2021 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation authorities have referred the Sahrawi media activist, Yahdih Khalihenna Abdelaziz Essabi, to Tawarta prison in occupied Dakhla, after he was interrogated about his journalistic activity and his filming of a Moroccan military barracks, according to the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA).  

Spain: King of Morocco accused of illegally exploiting Sahrawi agricultural lands

Madrid, 7 June 2021 (SPS) - The Spanish coordinator of farmers and livestock breeders (COAG) and the human rights NGO Mundubat have denounced the building of a large center for tomato production in the occupied territories of Western Sahara at the expense of Sahrawi farmers, reports the Spanish newspaper El Economista.
The two organizations accused, according to an investigation report published last Thursday, the King of Morocco of illegally building a tomato production center in Dakhla according to an investigation report they revealed last Thursday.

Madrid, 5 June 2021 (SPS) - President of the Sahrawi Body against Moroccan Occupation (ISACOM), Aminatou Haidar noted an upsurge of violations by the Moroccan occupation against Sahrawi people since the resumption of the armed struggle last November, saying that "Spain must not only assume its responsibility towards the Sahrawi people but also lead the decolonization process in Western Sahara."

Geneva Group urges UN to address human rights situation in Western Sahara

Geneva, 5 June 2021 (SPS) -The 285 member organizations of the Geneva Support Group for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights in Western Sahara urged the United Nations (UN) Security Council to hold a debate on the situation in occupied Western Sahara. 
In a document released Thursday, the organizations proposed to the UN to create the mandate of a special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the non-self-governing territory of Western Sahara.

Algiers, June 03, 2021 (SPS) -President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Wednesday affirmed that the appearance of the Sahrawi President Brahim Gali before a Spanich court “proves that the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) is a State under the rule of law.”

President of the Republic arrives in Algiers after his hospitalization in Spain

Algiers, June 02, 2021 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Brahim Gali arrived Wednesday, very early in the morning, to Algiers after his admission to a Spanish hospital, his medical staff having considered that his hospitalization was no longer necessary, a indicated the Saharawi ambassador in Algiers, Abdelkader Taleb Omar.
In a statement to APS, the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) explained that President Brahim Gali arrived in Algiers on Wednesday around 3 a.m. from Spain in order to continue his convalescence.

Sahrawi Army conducts new attacks against Moroccan occupation forces

Bir Lahlou, June 02, 2021 (SPS) - The units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out new attacks on Sunday and Monday against the positions of the forces of the Moroccan occupation army along the sand wall, said a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
"SPLA units bombed on Sunday the positions of the occupying forces in the regions of Chaydhmia and Oudey Oum Arakba in the Mahbès sector," the 201st statement said.
