Western Sahara decolonization: Kohler to brief Security Council Wednesday

New York, August 6, 2018 (SPS) - United Nations Envoy for Western Sahara Horst Kohler will brief the Security Council on his recent visit to the region to relaunch negotiations between Polisario Front and Morocco.
Former Germany's president will inform the Security Council about his recent activities, according to the Council's monthly forecasts for August.
The meeting will be held behind closed doors, while the final statement will be read to the press by the Council's president for August, Karen Pierce (UK).

Boumerdes (Algeria), August 5, 2018 (SPS) - President of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Secretary General of the Polisario Front Brahim Ghali said Saturday; in  Boumerdes (50-km east of Algiers), his satisfaction with the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), which confirm that Western Sahara and Morocco are two different countries and that no agreement with Morocco can include the territory of Western Sahara and the adjoining waters.

Sahrawi children on summer holidays in Italy welcomed by Mayor of Livorno

Livorno (Italy), August 4, 2018 (SPS) - A group of Saharawi children who are spending their summer holidays has been received by Mayor of the city of Livorno, Filippo Nogarin, in the presence media and associations of solidarity with the Saharawi people.
During the reception, which was attended by the Mayor's assistants and the President of the Council, the Mayor of the city signed certificates of honorary citizenship handed over to the Saharawi children.

Algiers, August 02, 2018 (SPS) - The ambassador of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Algiers, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, said Wednesday that Morocco "has opened the door to immigration to put pressure on Europe to get it to sign the fishing agreement".
"Morocco has opened the door to immigration to put pressure on Europe, and Spain in particular, to get them to sign the fishing agreement," Taleb Omar told reporters following a consultation meeting with the leader of an Algerian political party.
