UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations on visit in Sahrawi refugee camps

Shaheed El Hafed, October 23, 2016 (SPS) – UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Hervé Ladsous arrived Sunday in Sahrawi refugee camps in the framework of a working visit that led him to the parties to the conflict, the Polisario Front and Morocco.
The UN official who was received by Saharawi coordinator with MINURSO, M'hamed Khadad, held meetings with the Minister of National Defence, Abdelah Lahbib and Secretary of State for Documentation and Security, Ibrahim Ahmed Mahmoud.

SRC "deeply" concerned about reduction of basic food basket of Sahrawi refugees

Shaheed El Hafed, October 22, 2016 (SPS) The Saharawi Red Crescent (SRC) expressed "profound" concern about the reduction of the basic food basket for the Saharawi refugees as result of the delay of the Spanish government’s contribution for 2016.
"We are concerned about the decline in the food basket of the Sahrawi refugees since the beginning of this month, causing a 50% reduction in the monthly quota for the month of November," said a statement of the Saharawi Red Crescent.

Western Sahara conflict: Boukhari denounces Morocco's obstacles

New York, October 20, 2016 (SPS) -  Polisario Front's Representative to the United Nations Ahmed Boukhari has denounced, once again, Wednesday in New York, Morocco's hindrances to process for the resolution of Western Sahara conflict, which requires the resumption of negotiations.
Boukhari underlined Rabat's repeated "delaying tactics" to undermine the efforts of the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross and delay his trip to the region.

Washington proposes Security Council mission to Western Sahara

New York (United Nations), October 20, 2016 (SPS) - The United States proposed Tuesday at the UN Security Council to send a mission to Western Sahara to speed up UN  process for the settlement the conflict between Polisario Front and Morocco.
The American proposal, made at a Security Council meeting on Western Sahara Tuesday, has been approved by all the member states of the UN body, Ahmed Boukhari, the representative of the Polisario Front at the United Nations, told APS.

Western Sahara: EU should ensure militants of human rights access to occupied territories

Brussels, October 18, 2016 (SPS) -The European Union (EU) should ensure human rights' militants supporting Sahrawi people access to occupied territories in Western Sahara, Euro-MP Paloma Lopez, who questioned High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini about the measures taken in this regard.

UN Security Council holds its semi-annual on Western Sahara

Fisahara management organizes sit-in in front of Moroccan wall of shame

Bir-Lehlou (Liberated Zones), October 17, 2016 (SPS) The management of International Film Festival in Western Sahara (Fisahara) organized Sunday a sit-in in front of the Moroccan wall of shame that divides Western Sahara and separates its people.
During the sit-in, held just meters from the Moroccan minefields harvested annually tens of Sahrawi citizens, participants expressed their support for the Sahrawi people and to convey their suffering parts of the world.  

President of Republic bidden farewell at Lome airport by Togolese prime minister

Africa, beloved of God has many sons and daughters. Some of them in ancient Egypt gave the world its modern civilization. It also gave Greece its philosophy which became the basis of Western thought and philosophy. However, a different race whom our Seers had warned us against, swooped and enslaved almost all of Africa’s children. In pain and in tears, through our sweat and blood we struggled for freedom. That was years before the whole humanity agreed that the right of a people to self-determination is non-negotiable.

Lome (Togo), October 16, 2016 (SPS) The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, had talks Saturday with heads of state and government and delegations, on the sidelines of the AU Extraordinary  Summit, held in Lome under the theme of  maritime security and development in Africa.
In this context, the President of the Republic met with his counterparts of Chad, Togo, Mauritania, Mali, Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana.

Uruguayan Senate reaffirms support for Saharawi Republic in its struggle for independence
