New York, October 20, 2016 (SPS) - Polisario Front's Representative to the United Nations Ahmed Boukhari has denounced, once again, Wednesday in New York, Morocco's hindrances to process for the resolution of Western Sahara conflict, which requires the resumption of negotiations.
Boukhari underlined Rabat's repeated "delaying tactics" to undermine the efforts of the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross and delay his trip to the region.
"Rabat continues to resort to delaying tactics with the support of France to undermine the efforts of Ross for the resumption of negotiations between Morocco and the Polisario Front, Boukhari told APS in New York.
The UN mediator, who presented Tuesday a report on Western Sahara conflict to the Security Council, was having great difficulty in obtaining the cooperation of Morocco for the resumption of talks.
Boukhari said he expected that "the visit of the UN Chief will be an opportunity to resume negotiations. It is Polisario Front's hope."
"The Security Council is paralyzed by the position of France. This latter doesn't listen to Ross but listens to Morocco," he said, adding that the UN body has become a part of the problem instead of being a part of the solution.SPS
