Saharawi coordinator with MINURSO begins working visit in Sweden

Stockholm, Nov. 27, 2016 (SPS) Sahrawi Coordinator with MINURSO, M'hamed Khaded, began Friday a working visit for a few days in Sweden, accompanied by Representative of the Polisario Front in Sweden, Alien Habib Kentawi.
Mr. Khaded held several meetings with Swedish movement of solidarity with the Saharawi people, actors of civil society,  parliamentarians and the Socialist Democratic Party (the ruling party).

Presidency of Republic calls three days of national mourning following death of leader Fidel Castro

Bir Lehlou, Nov 26, 2016 (SPS) The Presidency of the Republic declared Saturday a national mourning for three days at the level of the refugee camps, the liberated territories of the SADR and the embassies and representations of the Polisario Front, following the death of president and revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.
The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, on Saturday sent a message of condolences to his Cuban counterpart, H.E. Raul Castro, following the death of president and revolutionary leaderFidel Castro.

Havana, Saturday, 26 November 2016 (SPS) - Cuba's revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, 90, passed away Friday evening in Havana, announced his brother Raul, who succeeded him in 2006.
"The Commander in Chief of the Cuban revolution passed away today at 10:29 p.m.," announced Raul Castro on the national television.
Fidel Castro "will be buried Saturday," stated the same official.
"In accordance with the wish expressed by Comrade Fidel, his remains will be incinerated in the early hours of Saturday," said the Cuban president. (SPS)

SADR hails African Union's support, solidarity

Bir Lahlou, November 25, 2016 (SPS) -  Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) greeted Wednesday African Union (AU) countries' support and solidarity with Western Sahara government and people, who should enjoy their inalienable right to self-determination and independence. 
"Saharawi Government expresses to all the states and bodies of our (African) Union its deep gratitude and that of Western Sahara people for their support and solidarity with the Saharawi State," the SADR's ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Messahel calls Polisario Front, Morocco to engage in direct political dialogue

Malabo, November 24, 2016 (SPS) - Minister of Maghreb Affairs, the African Union and the Arab League Abdelkader Messahel called Monday in Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) the Polisario Front and Morocco "to engage in a direct political dialogue for the self-determination of the Sahrawi people in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations."
 

4th Africa-Arab Summit: African countries unified against destabilisation attempts

Malabo (Equatorial Guinea)- Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel on Wednesday, in Malabo, said the "cohesion" that marked the fourth Africa-Arab Summit in the face of Morocco's attempts to expel the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) from the Summit meeting "shows that the African continent remains unified against any attempt to undermine the stability of Africa and the Africa Union."

Chahid El Hafed, November 24, 2016 (SPS) - Prime Minister, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Amar, has received Wednesday, the Projects Officer of family institutions projects, Mr. Bernard Blitar, in the presence of the head of the Saharawi Red Crescent, Mr. Buhubeini Yahya Buhubeini, at the headquarters of the Prime ministry.
 
In a statement to the media, Mr. Bernard said that his visit to the refugee camps came to view several projects in the camps mainly the building of educational schools.

A Saharawi citizen victim of brutal aggression by the Moroccan occupation army

Bojador (Occupied Zones), November 23, 2016 (SPS) - The Saharawi citizen, Echmad Ahmed Taleb, 66, was the victim of a brutal assault last Friday by a Moroccan military unit in the El-Demdj area to the north of the occupied city of Bojador, according to an accredited source of the occupied territories.
The same source points out that elements of the Moroccan occupation army has assaulted Echmad Ahmed Taleb causing considerable damage to his car.
