El Aaiun(occupied territories), June  24, 2015 (SPS) -The family of  Said Dambar (Saharawi citizen killed four years ago by the occupation authorities) renewed on  Tuesday "their just and legitimate demands to know the truth on the crime of the murder of his son, assuming  the Moroccan occupation authorities  the responsibility of this horrendous crime, after fifty-four months of his death by the same bloody hands that continue to oppress all Sahrawis who peacefully demand their rights for  freedom and existence. Colonization of Western Sahara must be brought to an immediate and unconditional end, says Algerian Ambassador to the UN

New York, 24 June  2015 (SPS) - The Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations Mr. Sabri BOUKADOUM said before The Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples, that the colonization of Western Sahara must be brought to an immediate and unconditional end in accordance with the UN charter and resolution 1514, reiterating his country firm position towards Sahrawi issue.

CODAPSO publishes its annual report on violations of human rights in Western Sahara

El Aaiun(occupied territories) June, 23 2015 (SPS) -The Committee to Defend the Right of Self-Determination of the People of Western Sahara (CODAPSO) released its annual report on the situation of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara during the period between May 2014 and April 2015.  The report highlights the brutal violations that have suffered the Saharawi civilians in the occupied territories by the Moroccan forces of occupation in cities such as Laayoune, Smara, Al-Marsa, Boujdour and Dakhla.


 
 

AFAPREDESA calls for an independent, impartial and permanent monitoring of human rights in Western Sahara

Geneva, June, 23 2015 (SPS) -The Association of Families of Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared (AFAPREDESA) called for  an implementation of a mechanism for independent, impartial and permanent monitoring of human rights in Western Sahara during his intervention as the representative and  member of AFAPREDESA Mr. Ali Buzeid in the Twenty-ninth Session of the Human Rights Committee of the UN.

Analyzing Sarkozy's visit to Morocco, journalist Rafik Bennasseur highlighted that "Sarko as well as M6 have something to gain (or a score to settle) through this journey. Maybe even it was decided and "rigged" by the two men to serve their personal agendas".
 

Public Health Minister concludes working visit to Jaen

Jaen, June 23, 2015 (SPS) - The Minister of Public Health, Mr. Mohamed LamiDaddi has concluded on Sunday a working visit to the Andalusian province of Jaén where he held meetings with different institutions and officials.
 


 

The minister met with Mayor of villargordo Mr. Don Sebastian Lopez Mateos to address a medical consultation of chronic disease’sproject as well as with the president of the Jaen association to support Saharawi people and high academic officials of Jaen University.

Establishment of a Mauritanian-Sahrawi parliamentary friendship group

Nouakchott, June 23, 2015 (SPS) - The parliamentary group of friendship with the Saharawi people has just been established within the Mauritanian National Assembly by Decree No. 45 of June 11 2015, consists of an Bureau of 6 members and a general assembly.

 

 

The group aims to revive and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two peoples, Saharawi and Mauritanian, and promote support for the just Saharawi cause and respect for the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, according to officials of the group.

 

 

EU "concerned" about violation of human rights in Saharawi occupied territories

Violations of human rights in Western Sahara: group of Algerian journalists launch international petition

Algiers, 22 June 2015 (SPS) - An international petition denouncing the violations of human rights committed by Morocco in Western Sahara and prompting the international community and organizations was launched Sunday in Algiers by a group of Algerian journalists.

 

Open to the entire press corps but also to various profiles and representatives of civil society, the call will be sent to the United Nations, the European Union (EU), the African Union (AU), League of Arab States and the Organization of Latin American States.

 

UNHCR bemoans "increasingly untenable" conditions of Sahrawi refugees

Algiers, 22 June 2015 (SPS) - The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) bemoaned Sunday, through its representative in Algeria, Hamdi Bukhari, the "increasingly untenable" condition of the Sahrawi refugees.

 

"The World Refugee Day is an opportunity to highlight the increasingly untenable situation for Western Sahara refugees and to demand the international community to continue to support the provision of refugees' needs," UNHCR said in a statement issued public on the World Day.

Blatant failure of the Moroccan propaganda on the diversion of humanitarian aid

Algiers, 21/06/2015 (SPS) .- The joint appeal launched by representatives of the World Food Programme (WFP), UNHCR and the UN Children's Fund (Unicef) to collect funds is a crushing denial to the incessant moroccan propaganda on the alleged diversion of aids destinated to the sahrawi refugee camps.

 

The three institutions have warned on "the progressive and continuous reduction of funding" for the Saharawi refugees, in a joint document released Saturday on the occasion of the World Refugee Day.

Hunger strike in support of Tekber Hedi

Huelva, 21 June 2015 (SPS) - A group of personalities, supporters and people of the solidarity movement initiated Friday a symbolic hunger strike to express their support and solidarity to Tekber Hedi.

 

The initiative was promoted by a group of persons such as Teresa Rodriguez, deputy in Andalusia, Miguel Urbán, MEP or Noemi Santana, Canary parliament; all of them are from Podemos Party.

 

The participants will wage a hunger strike for 24 hours in solidarity with Tekber Hedi who demands justice for her son. SPS

Arrival of first group of Saharawi children in Rome to spend their holidays in Italy

Rome (Italy), 21 June 2015 (SPS) - The first group of Saharawi children arrived Saturday in Rome to spend their holidays in Italy, in the framework of Holidays in Peace program, said a statement of the Polisario Front Representation in Italy.

 

 The group of 16 children and their monitors were greeted at the airport in Rome by the Association of Friendship with the Saharawi People "senza confini Bambini" (Children without borders) in the region of Naples.
