Postponement the trial of Sahrawi political prisoner Mohamed Banbari

Occupied El Aaiun, December 31, 2015 (SPS) - Moroccan occupying authorities Court postponed the trial of Saharawi political prisoner and journalist Mohamed Banbari until 12 Next January, reported source from the Ministry of the Occupied Territory and Communities Abroad.

According to the same source, the political activist Mohamed Banbari on hunger strike since 15 days has entered the hall of the court chanting slogans supporting the Polisario Front and demanding the self-determination.

Canary Islands Government President renews its support to Saharawi people right for freedom and self-determination

Transfer of a Saharawi political prisoner to the hospital after 13 days of hunger strike

El Aaiun(occupied territories of Western Sahara), December 30, 2015 (SPS) .- The journalist and  Saharawi political prisoner, Mohamed Banbari, transferred from the black prison in El Aaiun, the occupied capital of Western Sahara by Morocco, to the hospital after fainting and vomiting after 13 days of hunger strike, said Monday a source in the occupied territories.
 
 

According to the same source, Mohamed Bambari rejects the consumption of water with sugar hours before falling unconscious.

 

Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights demands an investigation into cases of enforced disappearances in Western Sahara

Washington(USA) December 30, 2015 (SPS) -The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights (RFK Center), in his latest periodic report stressed that the Kingdom of Morocco hamper UN efforts to resolve the conflict over the Western Sahara and urged Rabat to provide data on complaints about cases of enforced disappearances in Western Sahara since 1991 to now and investigated in its, calling for the release of all Saharawi political prisoners.

No progress in settlement of Western Sahara conflict, Morocco blocking all initiatives

United Nations, December 28, 2015 (SPS) - The year 2015 did not see the “turning point” hoped for by the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Ban Ki-moon, in his 2014 report for the settlement of the Western Sahara conflict.

 

For a year, Morocco continued to block all initiatives aimed at a peaceful solution allowing the self-determination of the Sahrawi people through the organization of a just and regular referendum.

Shaheed Elhafed, December 27, 2015 (SPS) - Minister of Public Health Mohamed Lamine Daddi met Saturday with a delegation of representatives of the Swiss Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi people.

Dakhla (refugee camps) December 23, 2015 (SPS) - The Work of the 14th Congress of the Polidario front, started last Wednesday in the Wilaya of Dakhla, refugee camps, concluded this evening its works.

 

The congress which was held under the name of Martyr Khalil Sidemhamed and the theme “strength, determination and will to impose independence and sovereignty,” has renewed confidence in person of Mohamed Abdelaziz as the secretary general of the Polisario Front, and elected the members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front.

Dakhla (Refugee Camps), December 23, 2015 (SPS) - Mohamed Abdelaziz was officially re-elected Polisario Front's secretary general, by overwhelming majority at front's 14th congress, whose works are carrying on Wednesday for the election of the members of the national secretariat, in the Saharawi refugee camps in Dakhla.

 

Candidates for the secretary general position, according to Polisario Front general statutes amended Saturday, must meet a number of requirements, including a minimum age of 40 years old and military experience.

 Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz obtained 90.31% of the votes of the delegates, indicated this morning Bushraya Beyoun, the president of the election committee.
