Nigeria spares no effort for respect of Saharawi people's right to self-determination

Abuja (Nigeria), 31 May 2015 (SPS) - Nigeria will spare no effort to ensure respect of Western Sahara people's right to self-determination and liberty," President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria said while receiving Sunday Saharawi Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Oumar in Abuja.

 

 The Nigerian president said "Nigeria, through its history of support to peoples and liberation movements in Africa, will spare no effort to ensure respect for Saharawi people's right to self-determination and liberty."

 

Strong condemnation in Peru of Morocco's "genocidal" policy against Saharawi people

Lima (Peru), 31 May 2015 (SPS) - Participants in a recent seminar organized by the Federation of Journalists of the Peruvian province of Ica, condemned the policy of "genocide" undertaken by Morocco against the Saharawi people, calling for the completion of the decolonization process in Western Sahara through the holding of a free referendum for the Saharawi people to allow them freely exercise their right to self-determination.

 

President of Saharawi Red Crescent receives delegation of Handicap International

 Shaheed Elhafed, May 31, 2015 (SPS) - President of the Saharawi Red Crescent Bouhoubeini Yahya received Sunday at the headquarters of his organization a delegation of International Handicap, on a working visit for some days in the Saharawi refugee camps.

 

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the humanitarian needs of the Sahrawi refugees, in particular the disabled and mines victims.

 

President of Saharawi Red Crescent confirms break in humanitarian aid to Sahrawi refugee camps

Shaheed Elhafed (Refugee Camps), 31 May 2015 (SPS) - President of Sahrawi Red Crescent Bouhabeini Yahya confirmed Sunday the break in the arrival of humanitarian aid to the Saharawi refugee camps from the donor agencies, in reply to the national media on the results of the recent visit by a delegation of the embassies of the donor countries to the Sahrawi refugee camps, and what has been reported by the Spanish media that the government will increase its humanitarian aid to the Sahrawi refugees.

 

Prime Minister takes part in inauguration ceremony of new Nigerian president

Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), 30 May 2014 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, reiterated Thursday in a letter to the delegates of the 10th Congress of the Algerian National Liberation Front  that the Saharawi people is determined to continue fighting to achieve their goals in freedom and independence.

 

He also praised the role of Algeria in the battle for the liberation and decolonization of Algeria, Africa and the world.

Chahid El Hafed, May 29, 2015 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente Polisario Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz on Wednesday sent a letter to the High Commissioner of the United Nations for Human Rights, Mr. Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, concerning the violations of human rights committed by Morocco against the Saharawi people and the visit conducted on April 2015 by a UNHCHR’s technical mission to the occupied Saharawi cities of El Aaiun and Dajla.

CAT declares admissible Naama Asfari’s complaint against Morocco

Paris, May 29, 2015 (SPS) - The Committee Against Torture (CAT) declared “admissible” the complaint filed by Naama Asfari, Saharawi human rights defender, against Morocco, urging Rabat to respond to the victim’s accusations, informed Thursday the Action by Christians Against Torture (ACAT) in a dispatch published on its website.


Arrested on 7 November 2011 in occupied Saharawi city of El Aaiun, Naama Asfari accused Moroccan authorities of having tortured and convicted him on the basis of forced confessions, extracted with impunity.

Saharawi delegation attends 10th congress of Algeria National Liberation Front

Algiers, May 28, 2015 (SPS) - At an official invitation by FLN, a Saharawi delegation, led by the Head of Polisario Front Organization Secretariat Mr. Salem Lbsir, on Wednesday took part at the opening ceremony of the 10th congress of the National Liberation Front of Algeria (FLN), kicked off Thursday in Algiers.


Mr. Salem Lbsir said the delegation delivered a letter from the President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz to the participants of the Congress.

WFP announces Saudi donation of dates for Saharawi refugees

Algiers, May 27, 2015 (SPS) - World Food Programme (WFP) said Tuesday it has delivered a food aid shipment containing 252 tons of dates as part of an annual donation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the benefit of Saharawi refugees currently living in the Algerian province of Tindouf.


“A shipment of 252 tons of dates has been cleared at the port of Oran as part of the annual donation by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the World Food Programme (WFP) in Algeria,” stated WFP said in a statement.
