Algiers, Oct 30, 2014 (SPS) - The Saharawi National Commission for Human Rights and the Algerian National Consultative Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (CNCPPDH) on Wednesday inked an agreement on cooperation.
Signed in Algiers, the agreements provides for the exchange of experiences and cooperation between the Frente Polisario and Algeria in defending and promoting human rights.
“Through this agreement, the Saharawi Commission will be able to benefit from the Algerian experience in the field of human rights defense and promotion,” indicated the President CNCPPDH Farouk Ksentini, in a statement to the press following the signing ceremony.
President of the Saharawi Human Rights Commission Mr. Said Filali, for his part, affirmed of the importance of cooperation between the Saharawi Republic (SADR) and Algeria in the work of human rights.
Saharawi Ambassador in Algiers Mr. Brahim Ghali expressed hope that the Saharawi National Commission for Human Rights, established last March, would have the advantage of the large-scale international relations network of the CNCPPDH.
He added that such agreement would contribute to unveiling the crimes against humanity perpetuated by Moroccan occupation in Western Sahara. (SPS)
