9th informal meeting between Polisario Front and Morocco resumes its work in Manhasset

New York, March 13, 2012 (SPS) -The ninth informal meeting between the Polisario Front and Morocco on Western Sahara issue has resumed its work Tuesday for the second and final day in Manhasset (New York) under auspices of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara, Mr. Christopher Ross, and in the presence of representatives of the observer countries: Algeria and Mauritania.


During  the meeting held behind closed doors at Greentree Estate, the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara, Mr. Christopher Ross,, will read statement before the media without responding the questions of the reporters .


The Saharawi negotiating delegation led by Speaker of the Saharawi National Council, Mr. Khatri Addouh, and includes Coordinator with the MINURSO, Mr. Mhamed Khaddad, Polisario Representative to the UN, Boukhari Ahmed.


The Polisario Front and Morocco initiated in June 2007 direct negotiations under the UN auspices, with four rounds that took place in Manhasset (United States), and nine informal meetings in Vienna (Austria), Valletta (Malta) and Manhasset. (SPS)
