Conclusion of fourth edition of Saharawi cultural week in Tindouf

Tindouf (Algeria), Dec 17, 2012 (SPS) - The 4th edition of the cultural week of the Saharawi Republic (SADR) in Tindouf, Algeria, under the slogan “renewal of solidarity and a hug for the origin Saharawi culture”, has concluded its activities on Wednesday.
 

This annual Saharawi cultural week began on last Saturday with many cultural and political activities including lectures, screening of documentaries, concerts, exhibitions and many other cultural activities which reflected the Saharawi culture in the past and present.
 

French MP calls on Hollande not to veto agaist extension of MINURSO’s mandate

 Paris (France) December19,2012(SPS) - A French member of parliament called on President François Hollande to seize the opportunity of his visit to Algeria to bring “significant” change to the “dramatic” issue of Western Sahara, “the last colony in Africa.”

 

"During your visit to Algeria, you have an opportunity to achieve   a significant change in this dramatic issue. Saharawi people is the last colonized people in Africa," wrote the deputy M. Hervé Feron, in an open letter to the French President, published on his blog.
 

Prime Minister concludes working visit to Province of Madrid

Madrid, December 19, 2012) - The member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and Prime Minister, Abdel Qader Taleb Omar,  on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday visited  the Madrid province  enabled him to discuss with several Spanish officials
 

 During the first day, he met with mayor of the Fuenlabrada municipality Mr. Manuel Robles and with the advisers, Jose Sanchez Luque and Margarita Barrios Rengifo, respectively in charge of the environment, and in charge of cooperation.
 

GA reaffirms the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination

New York, December 19, 2012 (SPS) The  General Assembly of the United Nations  on Tuesday adopted a resolution unanimously supporting the negotiation process in order to achieve a just, lasting and mutually acceptable  solution that lead to   self-determination of the people of Western Sahara.
 

It also commends the efforts made in this regard by the Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy, inviting the parties to cooperate with the International Committee of the Red Cross and to fulfill their obligations under international humanitarian law.
 

Prime Minister: Quick settlement of Western Sahara issue strengthens peace, security in North Africa, Sahel

Algiers, Dec 17, 2012 (SPS)- A quick and urgent settlement of Western Sahara issue will contribute to consolidating peace and security in North Africa and the Sahel, Saharawi Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar said Sunday in Algiers.

 

In a speech at the 3rd conference on the right of peoples to resistance; case of the Saharawi people held in Algiers, Prime Minister stressed that  the independence of Western Sahara "would certainly combat and eradicate terrorism and organized crime prevalent in these regions."

 

Ould Khelifa reasserts Algeria’s "unshakeable" position, unfailing support to Sahrawi people

Algiers, Dec 17, 2012 (SPS) - Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa reasserted Sunday in Algiers the "unshakeable" position of Algeria and its unfailing support to the right of Sahrawi people to self-determination in accordance with the decisions of the United Nations and the international law.

 

Saharawi delegation attends 53rd ANC National Elective Conference

Bloemfontein (South Africa), Dec 17, 2012 (SPS) - At an official invitation by the ANC, a Saharawi delegation attends procedures of the 53rd National Elective Conference of the South African National Congress (known as; ANC), taking place from 16th to 20th December 2012 in the city of Bloemfontein.


The delegation led by the Chief of POLISARIO Political Branches’ Secretariat Mr. Khalil Sid Mhamed, and includes the Secretary General of Woman National Union Ms. Fatma Mehdi and the Ambassador to South Africa Mr. Salha Al-Abd.

Fourth SADR Cultural Week in Tindouf kicks off

Tindouf (Algeria), Dec 17, 2012 (SPS) - The 4th edition of the annual cultural week of the Saharawi Republic (SADR) in Tindouf, Algeria, kicked off Sunday under the theme “renewal of solidarity and a hug for deep-rooted Saharawi culture”, held from 16th to 19th December 2012.


In his opening speech, the Governor of Tindouf Mr. Chater Abdelhakim welcomed, on behalf of Tindouf’s people and authorities, the participants at the 4th edition of SADR Cultural Week, annually held in Tindouf.

OATUU reaffirms support to people of Western Sahara

Human rights violations in Western Sahara denounced in Algiers

Algiers, Dec 16, 2012 (SPS) - The rights violations of human rights in the occupied Western Sahara have been unanimously denounced Saturday in Algiers, during the 3rd International Conference of Algiers on “Peoples’ right to resist: the Sahrawi case”.


President of the Italian Association of Solidarity with the Saharawi People Mr. Luciano Ardesi called for an end to the “massive and repeated violations” of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara by Moroccan forces.

Saharawi delegation attends preparatory assembly of World Social Forum Tunisia 2013

Tunis, Dec 16, 2012 (SPS) - The preparatory assembly of World Social Forum “Tunisia 2013” opened Friday evening at headquarters of the Tunisian General Labour Union in the Tunisian capital, in the presence of Saharawi delegation.


The three-day meeting is attended by delegates from Maghreb Union countries, Europe, Latin America as well as delegates from Egypt, Palestine and Saharawi delegation

Rédha Malek: Maghreb unity is not possible without solving Western Sahara issue

Algiers, Dec 16, 2012 (SPS) - The Former Chief of Algerian Government Mr. Rédha Malek said Saturday in Algiers that the building of Arab Maghreb Union “is not possible without the settlement of Western Sahara issue,” which remain under Moroccan occupation since 1975.


Speaking at the 3rd international conference of Algiers, devoted to “peoples’ right to resist: Sahrawi case”, Mr. Malek said that “as long as Western Sahara issue is not solved, we will not be able to build Maghreb Unity.”

Algiers, Dec 16, 2012 (SPS) - The Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar declared Saturday in Algiers that the occupation of Saharawi territories by Morocco is not motivated by “historical and political rights” rather by “an expansionist policy based on the lust for the Sahrawi resources.”

Mexico reiterates willingness to strengthen relations with SADR

President of Republic condoles Morocco's Justice and Charity Group

Bir Lehlu ( liberated territories), Dec 14, 2012 (SPS) - President of Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz sent a message of condolences to the Moroccan Justice and Charity Group following the death of its founder Abdessalm Yassin, who passed away Thursday at age of 84.

 

“On behalf of the Saharawi people, Saharawi government and Polisario leadership, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Justice and Charity Group”, said President of Republic in his  condolences message to the Group’s council.

 

President of Republic underlines Polisario commitment to negotiations with Morocco

The African Peace and Security Council rejects Morocco's participation in a session devoted to situation in Mali

Addis Ababa (AU) December 13, 2012 (SPS) the African Peace and Security Council rejected Morocco's participation in a session, held in Addis Ababa, on the review of the situation in the Republic of Mali.
 

Morocco, which is the president of the Security Council for this month, was sent a request to the current president of the Peace and Security Council, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Guinea Conakry, but members of the Board rejected this request.
