Bouhadja reiterates Algeria’s consistent position in favor of Western Sahara’s just cause

Algiers,  June 27, 2018 (SPS) - Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Said Bouhadja reiterated Monday, Algeria’s consistent position vis-à-vis the just cause of Western Sahara and the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, stressing that the Algerian Parliament, as a model of solidarity with the Sahrawi cause, has supported this issue which falls within the framework of “decolonization.”

Chahid El Hafed, June 26, 2018 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Brahim Gali, received Tuesday at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic the Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the UN for Western Sahara, Mr. Horst Kohler, who is on a tour to the region to relaunch the process of negotiations between the two parties to the conflict, the frente POLISARIO and Morocco.

Saharwi lecturer has addressed the legal and historical background of the Western Sahara issue, its position in international law, as issue of decolonization and the last colony on the African continent.

Arrival of first groups of Sahrawi children in Catalonia as part of Vacations in Peace Program

Barcelona, June 25, 2018 (SPS) – The first groups of Sahrawi children started to arrive on Sunday in Catalonia, Spain, in the framework of Vacations in Peace Program.
The Sahrawi children were received at the El Prat airport, Barcelona, by representatives of the Catalan associations in solidarity with the Saharawi people and members of the Polisario Front Delegation in Catalonia, who ac will company them to the different municipalities, where they will be welcomed by Catalan families.

EU-Morocco agreements: MEPs denounce European Commission's proposal to include Western Sahara

Brussels, June 23, 2018 (SPS) - Members of the Committee on International Trade (INTA) at the European Parliament denounced Thursday the European Commission's proposal to amend EU-Morocco association agreement to include products from Western Sahara, considering it inconsistent with the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) delivered in December 2016.

Sidati reiterates Polisario Front rejection of Western Sahara inclusion in EU-Morocco agreements

Brussels, June 23, 2018 (SPS) – Sahrawi minister, delegate for Europe Mohamed Sidati on Thursday reiterated the Polisario Front rejection of the European Commission’s proposal of modifying the protocols n 4 and n 1 to the EU-Morocco Association Agreement to include Western Sahara products.
"As the legitimate representative of Western Sahara people, recognized by the UN, the Polisario Front strongly rejects the proposal," he wrote in a letter to members of the European Parliament’s International Trade Committee (INTA).
