Shaheed El-Hafed, November 20, 2024 (SPS) - The Minister of Information, Mr. Hamada Salma, sent a congratulatory message to his Algerian counterpart, Mr. Mohamed Meziane, on the occasion of his appointment as Minister of Communication in the Algerian government.

 He expressed his sincere congratulations and wished him success in his duties.

SPLA targets Moroccan occupation forces in Guelta sector

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), 20 November 2024 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi Army have targeted the bases of Moroccan occupation forces in the Guelta sector, according to a military statement from the central command of the Political Commissariat of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA).

According to the statement, the attacks by the Sahrawi Army are ongoing, particularly targeting various enemy positions of the Moroccan occupiers along and behind the sand wall.

Moroccan occupation forces besiege home of "Equipe Media" coordinator Mohamed Mayara

Occupied El-Aaiun, November 20, 2024 (SPS) - Moroccan occupation forces, in civilian clothing, are currently besieging the home of Sahrawi journalist and human rights defender Mohamed Heiba Mayara, the coordinator of Equipe Media.

This follows an assault on him yesterday morning by agents affiliated with the Moroccan authorities, according to the Equipe Media website.

Algeria Ambassador in Angola reaffirms his country's firm stance on supporting the Sahrawi people's legitimate struggle

Luanda (Angola), November 20, 2024 (SPS) - Mr. Abdel Hakim Mihoubi, the Algerian Ambassador to the Republic of Angola, reaffirmed that his country is committed to defending just causes and the legitimate rights of peoples, similar to the struggles of the Sahrawi and Palestinian peoples. He noted that Algeria categorizes such positions as "loyalty to the principles of the glorious November Revolution."

SADR participates in high-level meeting on community health workers in Africa

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), November 20, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) is participating in the third high-level meeting on community health workers in Africa, held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

The meeting aims to strengthen coordinated actions to accelerate the scale-up of integrated community health worker programs across Africa.

Lanzarote hosts activities on Sahrawi cause

Lanzarote (Canary Islands), November 19, 2024 (SPS) - The representative of the Polisario Front in the Canary Archipelago, Ali Salem Sidi Zein, led a visit to the island of Lanzarote at the invitation of the New Canary Party, during which he conducted media interviews addressing the latest developments in the Sahrawi cause.

The activities concluded with a lecture and an in-depth discussion on the issue of the Sahrawi people and their legitimate struggle against Moroccan occupation.

University of Tifariti launches second diploma in studies on Africa, Middle East, Asia

Quito (Ecuador), November 19, 2024 (SPS) - The second virtual international diploma in studies on Africa, the Middle East, and Asia is launched Tuesday at the headquarters of the Latin American Peoples Foundation in the Ecuadorian capital.

 This initiative is supervised by the Department of Studies at the University of Tifariti in collaboration with friendship associations with the Sahrawi people in Colombia and Ecuador.

Sahrawi journalist assaulted by Moroccan security forces

Occupied El Aaiun, November 19, 2024 (SPS) - Sahrawi journalist and coordinator of Equip Media, Mohammed Mayara, was subjected to a brutal assault today, Tuesday, by agents of the Moroccan security forces, reported Equip Media website. 

According to the site, Mohammed Mayara was attacked around 9 a.m. local time in occupied El Aaiun by men in civilian clothing who were riding a motorcycle and spoke with a clear Moroccan accent. 

Sahrawi Observatory for Natural Resources Monitoring denounces Ryanair's decision to launch routes to Dakhla

Shaheed El Hafed (Refugee Camps), 18 November 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Observatory for Natural Resources Monitoring has condemned Ryanair's decision to launch new direct flights connecting Dakhla, in the occupied Sahrawi territories, to Madrid and the Canary Islands, calling on the airline to "reconsider its decision."

"We urge Ryanair to immediately reconsider this decision and to put an end to any plans to operate flights to Dakhla," the Observatory wrote in a letter addressed to the airline's CEO, Michael O'Leary.

Minister of Communication received by his Algerian counterpart

 Algiers, November 18, 2024 (SPS) - The Algerian Minister of Communication, Mr. Mohamed Laqab, received his Sahrawi counterpart, Hamada Salma, at his his ministry. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to Algeria, Abdelkader Taleb Omar.

The meeting was an opportunity to review various aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of media and communication, recognizing the importance and role of this sector in addressing national and international issues.

The meeting focused on evaluating and studying the overall situation (diplomatic, political, military, and security), specifically the past national events and preparations for upcoming ones, as well as addressing the national cause and regional, national, and international situations.

Minister of Public Health receives representative of World Doctors of Spain

Shaheed Al-Hafed, November 17, 2024 (SPS) - Minister of Public Health, Mr. Salek Baba Hasana, received the representative of the World Doctors of Spain, who paid a farewell visit after the conclusion of his mission.

During the meeting, the minister expressed his gratitude to the representative for his outstanding work with the Ministry of Public Health and for the contributions he made while representing the organization over the past few years.

Frente POLISARIO Representative at the UN: “Madrid agreement” does not have any legal effect on the international status of Western Sahara

New York (United Nations), 16 November 2024 (SPS) - On the forty-ninth anniversary of the signing of the “Madrid agreement”, Dr Sidi Mohamed Omar, Member of the National Secretariat, Representative of the Frente POLISARIO at the UN and Coordinator with MINURSO, wrote an article outlining the position of the United Nations regarding the agreement in light of the UN’ reaffirmation of the international situation of Western Sahara as a decolonisation issue.

Madrid (Spain), November 16, 2024 (SPS) - Thousands of Spanish demonstrators and the Sahrawi community in Spain participated Saturday in solidarity demonstrations in the capital, Madrid, supporting the Sahrawi people's struggle and condemning the ongoing Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara.

The demonstrators carried flags of the Sahrawi Republic and banners reaffirming the Sahrawi people's right to freedom and independence.

Minister of Social Affairs and Women's Empowerment received by her Algerian Counterpart

The meeting addressed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop cooperation between the Sahrawi and Algerian ministries in various fields related to women's issues and their advancement.
