Wilaya of Boujdour, May 1, 2024 (SPS) - The First Media Conference in Solidarity with the Sahrawi People is held on Thursday in the wilaya of Boujdour under the slogan "A Media Overview on the Western Sahara Issue and its Developments, Current Issues and Double Standards" on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Union of Workers of Saguia El Hamra and Rio de Oro (UGTSARIO) and World Press Freedom Day.

Many foreign delegations and a large audience of journalists, writers and researchers are participating in this conference.

Shaheed El Hafed, May 1, 2024 (SPS) - The General Union of Workers of Saguia el-Hamra and Rio de Oro (UGTSARIO ) has congratulated workers on their International Day, which falls on May 1st of each year.

In a statement, issued Wednesday by the Union, it emphasizes that workers around the world are in dire need of defending the values of justice, equality, and respect for all conventions and laws in force, and not succumbing to the policy of double standards in dealing with our national and international issues.

Shaheed El-Hafed, May 1, 2024 (SPS) - The Prime Minister, Mr. Bushraya Hamoudi Beyoun, chaired Wednesday a meeting of the Council of Ministers,  at the headquarters of the Prime Minister's office.

The meeting comes after the fourth session of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and the process of circulating its outcomes at the regional and local levels, as well as within the government apparatus.

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), 28 April 2024 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) have launched new attacks on positions of the Moroccan occupying forces in the Mahbes and Farsia sectors, causing "heavy human and material losses" to the occupying army, according to a statement by the Sahrawi army on Sunday.

Washington, 27 April 2024 (SPS) - A US State Department human rights report paints a bleak picture of the human rights situation in Morocco and occupied Western Sahara, listing several violations recorded in 2023.

Particularly critical of the Moroccan authorities, the report highlights a series of human rights violations, including cases of torture in detention, reporting cases of torture in detention, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment of demonstrators for the independence of Western Sahara by the security forces.

London, 25 April 2024 (SPS) - An Amnesty International report has revealed a grim picture of the human rights situation and widespread violations of international law in the occupied Western Sahara territories, where Moroccan forces continue to impose restrictions on Sahrawi civilians and activists to silence opposition and deter them from demanding their right to self-determination and independence.

Madrid, 23 April 2024 (SPS) - The headquarters of the Regional Parliament of Cantabria, in northern Spain, has been organizing a since Monday a photo exhibition to raise awareness about the struggle of Sahrawi women and document the Sahrawi people's fight against Moroccan occupation. This exhibition is part of an awareness program about the Western Sahara issue organized by several Spanish provinces.

Paris, April 23, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi community in France denounced on Tuesday "the assassinations, premeditated killings, and all violations of international law" by the Moroccan occupier. They called on the United Nations Security Council, the African Union, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to "protect Sahrawi civilians" and "demand the release of Sahrawi political prisoners from Moroccan prisons."
