Bir Lehlou, Sahrawi Republic - 31 October 2024 - (SPS) The Frente POLISARIO issued today a Press Release following the adoption by the Security Council of its new resolution by which it decided to extend the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) until 31 October 2025. 

Algiers, October 31, 2024 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, arrived Thursday in Algiers to participate in the celebrations commemorating the 70th anniversary of the glorious November Revolution.

The President of the Republic was welcomed at the Houari Boumediene International Airport by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Algiers, October 31, 2024 (SPS) - The South African ambassador to Algeria, Mr Ndumiso Ndima Ntshinga, reaffirmed during a meeting with the Sahrawi ambassador to Algeria, member of the national secretariat, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, the solidarity and support of South Africa for the just struggle of the Sahrawi people for its legitimate rights to freedom and independence, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations and the African Union.

London (UK), October 31, 2024 (SPS) - The British government has reiterated its position on the issue of Western Sahara.

In a question posed by Labour MP Mr. Ben Lake to the Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, he inquired about the steps the British government is taking at the United Nations to help ensure that the people of Western Sahara can exercise their right to self-determination in accordance with the United Nations Charter.

Chahid El-Hafed (Sahrawi Republic) 30 October 2024 (SPS) – The Sahrawi government denounced the stance expressed by French President, Emmanuel Macron, in front of the Moroccan Parliament on Tuesday, saying that it effectively excludes France from any United Nations-led efforts to decolonize Western Sahara.

Algiers, October 29, 2024 (SPS) - The Secretary-General of the Algerian National Liberation Front (FLN) party, Mr. Abdelkarim Embarek, has reiterated the firm and supportive stance of the party regarding the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence, stressing  that the Sahrawi issue is a case of decolonization and the last colony in Africa, during a seminar organized by the FLN at its headquarters, attended  by a distinguished group of university professors to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the glorious November 1 Revolution.

Bir Lehlou (Sahrawi Republic) 29 October 2024 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic strongly condemned the recent military attacks by the Israeli army of occupation against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sahrawi Republic expressed its denunciation of this attack, considering it a violation of international law.

Algiers, 28 October 2024 (SPS) – The Polish Deputy Foreign Minister for the Middle East and Africa, affirmed in an interview with Algeria’s "El Khabar" newspaper published yesterday, his country’s steadfast position on the conflict in Western Sahara.

The Polish official clarified that "Poland's stance on Western Sahara has not changed; we support a process  of the solution under the auspices of the United Nations and in accordance with international law."

Gaborone (Botswana) 28 October 2024 (SPS)- The President of the Republic of Botswana, Dr.  Mokgweetsi Masisi, reaffirmed his country's unwavering support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination, freedom, and independence in a response message to a congratulatory letter sent to him by the President of the Sahrawi Republic, Brahim Ghali, on the occasion of Botswana's National Day.

Algiers, October 27, 2024 (SPS) - The Algerian National Republican Alliance Party confirmed, at the conclusion of its fifth summer university held in Algiers under the slogan, “Comprehensive Dialogue, State of Law and Guarantee of Freedoms”, the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence, renewing its continued support and solidarity with the Sahrawi cause.

Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) October 26, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Republic participates in 15th AU High-Level Retreat on the Promotion of Peace, Security and Stability in Africa, organised under the theme “Impact and Sustainability of AU Preventive Diplomacy and Mediation”.

The Retreat held from the 25th to the 26th of October 2024 in Abidjan, is organised in collaboration with the Government of Côte d’Ivoire.

Shaheed Al-Hafed, October 26, 2024 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces issued yesterday October 25, 2024, a presidential decree by which he made a number of appointments at the level of the Ministry of National Defense based on the powers conferred upon him by the constitution.

Russia, October 25, 2024 (SPS) – Bolivian President Luis Arce reaffirmed his country’s strong stance on the Sahrawi issue and the Sahrawi people's right to freedom and self-determination.

In his speech at the BRICS summit held in Russia, Luis Arce reiterated Bolivia's support for the Sahrawi people's right to freedom and self-determination.

Mexico City, 25 October 2024 (SPS) – Mexico praised the diplomatic relations it has with the Sahrawi Republic, which are based on "shared principles," renewing its solidarity with the Sahrawi people in its pursuit of self-determination and calling for a solution to the conflict in accordance with the principles of international legitimacy and the relevant resolutions of the General Assembly and the Security Council.

Paris, 25 October 2024 (SPS) - The International University Observatory of Western Sahara (OUISO) urged French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday to "reconsider" his position on the issue of Western Sahara, deeming it "essential" for France to "align" its stance with the rulings of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), which has once again confirmed the "separate" and "distinct" status of this territory compared to Morocco.

Mexico City (Mexico), October 25, 2024 (SPS) - The Mexican Senate organized a special session Thursday  to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between Mexico and the Sahrawi Republic. The session was chaired by Gerardo Fernández Noroña, the President of the Mexican Senate, and was attended by Hamma Salama, the President of the Sahrawi National Council, and the Sahrawi ambassador to Mexico, Mokhtar Labihi.
