Submitted on

Shaheed El Hafed, 12 April 2020 (SPS) - An organization called the daughters of Saguia Elhamra and Rio de Oro will conduct a campaign for the immediate release of the Sahrawi political prisoners in the Moroccan jails amidst the spread of the pandemic of Covid-19.
This organization expressed its deep concern over the terrible situation affecting the Sahrawi political prisoners detained illegally in Moroccan prisons amidst the spread of the pandemic of Covid-19.
On March 22th, while the pandemic was spreading worldwide, Sahrawi President, Secretary General of the Polisario Front Brahim Ghali sent a letter to the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, dubbing frightening the situation affecting the Sahrawi political prisoners detained illegally in the Moroccan prisons.
He warned that “the epidemic of this dangerous virus and the required urgent measure, notably to avoid large gatherings and overcrowding, contradict totally with the situation in which these civil prisoners are detained in overcrowded Moroccan prisons.” (SPS)
