Madrid to host meeting on "Sahrawi women, 40 years of struggle for independence, freedom"

MADRID- Spain's capital, Madrid, will host a meeting on Saturday under the theme "Sahrawi women, 40 years of struggle for independence and freedom," announced Wednesday the delegation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Madrid.
The tribute meeting, which will be marked by the participation of the Spanish association of support to Sahrawi people "amaltéa," aims at highlighting the role of Sahrawi women in the struggle for independence and their place in the Sahrawi society in its struggle against the Moroccan colonizer, said the source.

Chahid Al-Hafed (Saharawi refugee camps), March 18, 2016 (SPS) -The Prime Minister of the Saharwi Republic, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, chaired yesterday  a government meeting to assess the level of implementation of their programs at of different sectors and institutions.
 
 
In this regard, the meeting also discussed the security situation in the camps and the liberated territories on the eve of the arrival of delegations and Spanish families who start their visits from next week.

WASHINGTON-The United Nations Security Council will hold Thursday an urgent meeting following Morocco's decision to stop its financial contribution to the United Nations Mission for Referendum in Western Sahara (Minurso),  a source close to the issue told APS Thursday.  
The Security Council will meet at the request of the United Nations Secretary General Ban ki-moon to assess impact of this decision on Minurso.

Dang: Panafrican Parliament has role to play in resolution of Africa's issues

Algiers, March 18, 2016 (SPS) -The Panafrican Parliament has a role to play in joining efforts of the African countries to resolve the different problems facing the continent, mainly counterterrorism, smuggling and migration and climate changes, President of this African body Nkodo Dang stressed Wednesday in Algiers.
 
During a press conference, Dang stressed that "the Panafrican Parliament is able to contribute to African Union's efforts to resolve the problems shaking the African continent."

Algiers, 6 March 2016 (SPS) - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday started visit to Algiers, as part of his tour to the region in a bid to relaunch the negotiations for the settlement of Western Sahara conflict, opposing Morocco and Polisario Front.
Upon arrival at Houari Boumediene International Airport of Algiers, the UN chief was greeted by Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra.
