President of Republic recieves Cuban new ambassador

Shaheed Hafed, March 23, 2014 March (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, recieved Sunday evening the Cuban ambassador, Mr. Raul Barzaga, who presented his credentials as the new ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Cuba to the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

Boujdour (Refugee Camps), March 23, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic Secretary-General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz emphasised that the Sahrawi Committee of Human Rights is devoted to the respect by the Polisario Front the Sahrawi government of human rights and defending them  not only in the refugee camps and liberated territories but also in the occupied territories and southern Morocco. 

 

President of Republic supervises inauguration of National Human Rights Committee

Boujdour (Refugee Camps), March 23, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic Secretary-General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz supervised Sunday in the Wilaya of Boujdour, refugee camps, the inauguration of the National Committee of Human Rights,  in the presence of members of the Polisario Front National Secretariat and SADR government as well as civil society actors and representatives of the international organizations working with the Saharawi people in addition to the national and foreign media.

 

Demonstration in front of Moroccan embassy in London to condemn human rights violation in occupied Western Sahara

London (UK) March 23, 2014 (SPS) -  The Western Sahara Campaign UK organised Saturday a demonstration in front of  the Moroccan embassy in London to denounce the dire human rights situation in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

 

The demonstration also called for the expansion of  the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) to include human rights monitoring and enabling the Saharawi people of their right to self-determination.

University of Cartagena in region of Murcia hosts sensitization days on Sahrawi issue

Murcia (Spain) May 21, 2014 (SPS) - The University of Cartagena in the region of Murcia will host  May 6-8, Sensitization and cultural days on the Sahrawi issue in order to shed light on aspects of the struggle of the Saharawi people.  
 
 The initiative was announced after a meeting Wednesday between the Polisario Front representative in the region of Murcia and Mr. Francisco Martinez, Vice President of the University of Cartagena and in charge of students’ affairs.

UPyD reiterates support for right of Saharawi people

National Assembly Committees listen to answers from government members on deputies concerns

Shaheed Hafed (Refugee Camps), March 21, 2014 (SPS) - The specialized committees of the National Council  will listen Saturday to the responses of the government members on concerns and observations related to the government's program for the year 2014.

 

According to sources of the National Council, the observations expressed by members of the National Council were constructive and purposeful to find concepts and formulas to implement the projects and manage resources for the benefit of the citizen.

 

Polisario Front delegation meets Director for Middle East and North Africa in British Foreign and Commonwealth Office

British government reaffirms support of Saharawi people right to self-determination

London, March 21, 2014 (SPS) - British Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Mr. Hugh Robertson has reaffirmed that the British government "strongly" supports the efforts of the United Nations to encourage Morocco and the Polisario Front to reach an agreement on a lasting and mutually acceptable political solution providing for the right to self-determination of the people of the Western Sahara.  

 

Saharawi delegation meets SADR partners in London

London, March 20, 2014 (SPS) - A meeting between the Saharawi officials and representatives of the oil companies that have signed agreements with the Saharawi Republic (SADR) took place yesterday, Wednesday, in London.


The delegation was headed by Mr. Emhamed Khadad, member of the Polisario Front’s National Secretariat and cmprised of Mr. Kamal Fadel, Polisario Front’s Representative to Australia.

Adala UK calls on Morocco to stop repression against Saharawis

El Aaiun (occupied territories), March 20, 2014 (SPS) - The British ONG Adala UK has called on Moroccan authorities to halt their repression against the peaceful Saharawi demonstrations which demand the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination.


"Adala UK believes that the time has come for the Moroccan authorities to cease their repression of Saharawi demonstrations which demand the right of self-determination in the occupied territories of Western Sahara," declares the ONG, in a statement published on its website.

Young Saharawi run over by Moroccan motorcycle

El Aaiun (occupied territories), March 20, 2014 (SPS) - Ali Al-Mousaoui, a young Saharawi, was run over on Saturday by a Moroccan police motorcycle in Catalunya Street in the occupied city of El Aaiun, according to a right source.


Arrested for 48 hours in Moroccan police station, the young Saharawi was subjected to all from of physical and psychological torture.


He was referred Monday to the Moroccan Court of Appeal in El Aaiun, before being imprisoned in Black Prison in false and fabricated charges.

PAP President committed to defend Saharawi cause

Johannesburg, March 19, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Pan-African Parliament Mr. Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi has expressed commitment to defend the Saharawi cause, stressing the need to decolonize the last colony in Africa, Western Sahara.


In a ceremony held Tuesday in Johannesburg, South Africa, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the PAP, Mr. Amadi voiced his commitment to defend Western Sahara issue, calling for putting an end to Morocco’s occupation of Western Sahara, through completing the process of decolonization.

Saharawi Government awards Bir Lehlou oil exploration block to Red Rio Ltd

London, March 19, 2014 (SPS) - The Saharawi government announced Tuesday that it has awarded a new oil and gas exploration block in the liberated territory of Bir Lehlou to the UK-based Red Rio Petroleum Ltd.


This award is under the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) terms previously promulgated by the SADR.


The Bir Lahlou block is situated in the north-east corner of the Territory of Western Sahara, in the area controlled by the Frente POLISARIO, which leads the Government of the SADR.

Algeria, Chad for UN efforts to resolve Western Sahara conflict

Algiers, March 19, 2014 (SPS) - Algeria and Chad have reiterated support to the UN efforts aimed at reaching a "just and final solution" to the Saharawi issue in accordance with the pertinent resolutions of the Security Council and General Assembly of the UN.
