Murcia (Spain), March 21, 2014 (SPS) - The new coordinator of Union, Progress and Democracy Party (UPyD) in the Spanish region of Murcia, Ms. Fuensanta Máximo, expressed the party's firm position in support of the right of the Saharawi people to freedom, self-determination and independence.
The position was expressed during a meeting Friday with the Polisario Front representative in Murcia, Mohamed Lebbat Mustafa, where the bilateral relations between the Polisario Front and UPyD were discussed and violations of human rights committed by Morocco condemned.
UPyD reminded of Spain’s historical responsibilities towards the decolonization of Western Sahara, calling on his their government to play a role in finding a final solution to the issue of Western Sahara in accordance with the requirements of international legitimacy. (SPS)
