Boumerdes (Algeria) 15, August 2018 (SPS) - Professor and former Algerian Minister Mr. Ahmed Hichour underlined that the support of  the majority peoples of the world to the Sahrawi issue derive from their deep belief in the justice of the Sahrawi cause and the right of their people to self-determination in a lecture entitled " the impact of the international and regional situation on the issue of Western Sahara" to participants in the events of the ninth edition of the Summer University of Frente POLISARIO and Sahrawi cadres.

President of the Juvenile Court of Catania (Italy) receives Saharan children

(SPS) - The President of the Juvenile Court of the Province of Catania on the Island of Sicily, Mrs. Francesca Pricoco, received, , at her home in the vicinity of the town Italian Santa Venerina to a group of Sahrawi children who are spending their summer holidays in Acireale.
The reception was attended by the President of the "Terra Futura" Association of Acireale, Giovanna Morabito, the Association Coordinator, Sara Scudero and the member of the Mitzi Badala association.

Archives show Sahrawis were masters of their territory

Boumerdes, August 13, 2018 (SPS) -The Spanish colonization archives on Western Sahara bear "irrefutable testimony" that the Sahrawis were masters of their territory, said Monday Teacher-researcher and legal expert in archives, Achour Sellal.
Speaking in a conference at the Summer University of the executives of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Sellal assured that these documents showed that the Sahrawis had the right to self-determination in accordance with the UN resolution 1514 of 1960.

Kohler to send invitations to Polisario Front, Morocco in coming weeks for resumption of negotiations

Algiers, August 13, 2018 (SPS) - The United Nations Secretary General's Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Horst Kohler intends to send invitations, probably by the end of September, to the two parties to the conflict in Western Sahara (Polisario Front and Morocco), in line with the UN efforts to restart direct negotiations and find a solution guaranteeing the right of Sahrawi people to self-determination, said Sunday Polisario Front's Coordinator with the UN Mission for Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), M'hamed Kheddad.

Nigerian Movement for Western Sahara organizes solidarity platform with Sahrawi people

Abuja (Nigeria), August 12, 2018 (SPS) - The Nigerian Movement for Western Sahara in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, has organized a platform of solidarity with the Saharawi people and their just cause, in the presence of the Sahrawi Ambassador to Nigeria, Malanin Sadik. 
The solidarity platform was an opportunity for Nigerian civil society organizations to rene their support for the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people led by its sole representative, the Polisario Front.

Pope Francis receives Sahrawi children in Vatican

Rome, August 11, 2018 (SPS) - Pope Francis received Sahrawi children in the Vatican in Rome, in presence of Polisario Front's representative in Italy Omar Mih and representatives of associations supporting the Sahrawi cause, as well as thousands of people from all over the world who came to visit the Catholic Church headquarters.
During the ceremony, held Wednesday in the audience hall in the Vatican City, Pope Francis hailed those "messengers of peace" and talked at length with some of them in presence of the head of Sahrawi delegation, Omar Mih.

Western Sahara: Algeria "positively appreciates" UN envoy's briefing on his recent visit

Algiers, August 10, 2018 (SPS) - Algeria "has positively appreciated" the briefing by the United Nations Secretary General's personal envoy for Western Sahara, Horst Kohler, before the United Nations Security Council on his recent visit to the region, said Thursday the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelaziz Benali Cherif.
This briefing was "favourably welcomed" by all members of the UN Security Council, he said.
