Valencia organizes awareness-raising activities in preparation for "Holidays in Peace" program in 2024.

Valencia (Spain), 11 February 2024 (WAS) - The authorities in the Spanish city of Valencia have begun organizing several awareness-raising activities for the benefit of Sahrawi children as part of the preparation for the "Holidays in Peace" program in the summer of 2024. The organizers hope to increase the number of host families involved with the Sahrawi people and their just cause.

Minister of Public Health received by Algerian Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production

Algiers, 11 February 2024 (SPS) - Mr. Salek Baba Hassena, Minister of Public Health, was received today, Sunday,  at the headquarters of the Algerian Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production by Mr. Ali Aoun, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two ministries in the areas of medicines, pharmaceutical production, training and continuing education for Sahrawi specialists, developing the drug production laboratory and supporting it with basic raw materials.

Conflict in Western Sahara has "gone on long enough"

Algiers, 10 February 2024 (SPS) -The Unites States (US) Ambassador to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, said that the conflict in Western Sahara had "gone on long enough", recalling that Washington backs the settlement of the conflict "within the framework of the United Nations and through the work of the UN SG's personal envoy, Staffan de Mistura.”

The ambassador said in an interview with the Algerian newspapers “Al-Watan” and "Al-Khabar," “This conflict has continued for a long enough time. 47 years is a long time for the Sahrawi people.”

SPLA carries out new attacks against positions of Moroccan occupation soldiers in Mahbes sector

Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), 10 February 2024 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) targeted trenches and positions of the Moroccan occupation soldiers in the Mahbes sector, resulting in "substantial losses in lives and equipment," indicated a statement of the Central Directorate of the Political Governorate of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army.

Washington confirms its support for a political solution to the Western Sahara conflict

Algeria, February 8, 2024 (SPS) - The Ambassador of the United States of America to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, renewed Washington’s support for a political solution to the Western Sahara conflict, stressing her country’s support for the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Western Sahara, Mr. Staffan de Mistura.

Cuba, 4 February  2024 (SPS) - In a closing statement, more than 100 delegates from the 29th South American Group for Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cuba condemned the Moroccan occupation's practices of plundering Sahrawi natural resources. BBC delegation on visit Sahrawi refugee camps

Shaheed Hafed, 4 February 2024 (SPS) - A journalist delegation from the British BBC channel has begun a visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps.

The visit, which started on Saturday, will include meetings with various segments of Sahrawi society, field visits to the Association of Families of Sahrawi Prisoners and Disappeared, the Association of Landmine Victims, the Resistance Museum, the headquarters of national television, facilities in the wilaya of Smara and a meeting with its authorities and some families, the Hussein Tamk Complex, and the Sahrawi Red Crescent.

Ministry of Public Health launches Polio Vaccination Campaign

Shaheed Hafed, 29 January 2024 (SPS) -  Specialized teams have begun the fieldwork for polio vaccination in all wilayas, amidst a large presence of children who are the target of the vaccination, and notable compliance from their mothers with the accompanying procedures for the vaccination process.

The polio vaccination campaign targets children between the ages of two months and six years, according to a detailed schedule prepared by the Central Directorate of Prevention in collaboration with the regional health directorates.
