Yokohama (Japan) 27 August 2019 (SPS)- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Uld Salek, represented the Sahrawi Republic in the Ministerial Meeting of the 7th African Union-Japan Partnership Summit (TICAD), on Tuesday in Yokohama, Japan, accompanied by the Sahrawi Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Lamine Baali.

Yokohama (Japan) 26 August 2019 (SPS)- The seventh African Union-Japan Partnership Summit (TICAD) kicked off today in Yokohama, Japan, at the level of Senior Officials, to be followed tomorrow by a meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers, before the holding of the Summit that will be attended by the President of the Sahrawi Republic, Brahim Ghali.

Polisario Front warns against “serious impact” of deadlock in peace process

Shaheed Al-Hafeed, August 24, 2019 (SPS) -The Polisario Front on Sunday warned against the danger of the deadlock in the peace process led by the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) to decolonize Western Sahara.
Chaired by President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Brahim Ghali, the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front held an extraordinary session on 21-23 August, during which the current situation at the national, regional and international levels was discussed.

Frente POLISARIO applauds African Union's persistent positions for decolonization of last African colony

Shaheed al-Hafeed, August 24, 2019 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO’s National Secretariat welcomed the African Union's constant stances on the need to complete the decolonization of the last African colony, calling for resolving the conflict between the two neighboring countries, which are members of the continental organization, the Sahrawi Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco, ensuring compliance with the Constitutive Act of the African Union, in particular respect for the borders inherited in the wake of independence and respect for the sovereignty of the member States.

Bir-Lahlou, August 24, 2019 (SPS) -  Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed-Salem Ould Salek, has sent a congratulatory message to his Nigerian counterpart, H.E Geoffrey Jideofor Kwusike Onyeama, on the renewal of his appointment by H.E President Muhammadu Buhari, as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria.
“On this great occasion, I would like to offer you, on my personal name and behalf of the Sahrawi Government, my most sincere congratulations,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Frente POLISARIO warns against danger of blockage to UN-AU settlement process, lack of interest of Security Council

Shaheed al-Hafeed, August 24, 2019 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO's National Secretariat drew attention to the danger of a return of blockage to the United Nations African settlement process, or the lack of interest on the part of the Security Council and the international community at large, especially after the resignation of Mr. Horst Koehler, the UN Secretary General's Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, during the special session held on 21, 22 and 23 of August, chaired by President of the Republic, Seretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Ghali.

Panama-SADR Parliamentary Friendship Group set up

Panama City. August 15, 2019 (SPS) - Panama's National Assembly has set up a Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) with the aim to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples and the two brotherly countries.
The installation ceremony of Panama-SADR Parliamentary Friendship Group was held Tuesday by the Committee on Foreign Relations of Panama's National Assembly, chaired by Deputy Fernando Arce, the Sahrawi news agency SPS said Wednesday.

Ugandan Students Association condemns Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara and calls for more solidarity with Saharawis

Kampala (Uganda) 14 August 2019 (SPS)- The Ugandan Students' Association condemns the Moroccan illegal occupation of parts of the Sahrawi Republic, during a meeting with Saharawi Ambassador in Uganda, Mr. Hamadi Bachir, on Wednesday, and called for more solidarity and support to the Sahrawi people.
The Sahrawi ambassador in Uganda received representatives of the organization at the embassy in Kampala where he held a meeting with them, exposing them the historical, legal and political backgrounds of the conflict in Western Sahara.

Mr António Guterres.
