Melbourne (Australia), July  18, 2019  (SPS) – the  POLISARIO Frente’s Representative to Australia and New Zealand, Mr. kamal Fadel, accused Morocco of committing serious human rights abuses against Saharawi activists, including bloggers and journalists like Mrs. Nezha Khalidi, and deplores the fact that France is still supporting Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara against all odds.

Mr. Gustavo Meza-Cuadra, Permanent Representative of Peru to the United Nations, President of the Security Council.

Polisario Front calls on Spain to defend Sahrawis’ right to self-determination

Seville (Spain), July 14, 2019 (SPS)– The Polisario Front representative in Spain Kheira Bulahi Bad called on Madrid to defend the Sahrawi people right to self-determination, stressing that the Moroccan occupation continues blocking the Spanish observers and human rights defenders from entering the Sahrawi territories.
Speaking during the 24th edition of the "March for peace" staged in Saturday in Seville, the Polisario Front representative demanded from Spain to intervene to defend Western Sahara self-determination right, said the SPS agency.

Seizure of 1525 kg of cannabis, machine guns (Ministry of Defense)

Shaheed Al-Hafeed, 13 July 2019 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) seized on Friday 1525 kg of cannabis, a PKT machine gun with 1100 rounds of ammunition, two Kalashnikovs with 200 rounds, and arrested four smugglers on a 4WD Toyota, in the region of Rous Timlouza, indicated the Ministry of Defense in a statement.
The statement added in the same context that another group consisting of five individuals carrying 100 kg of cannabis were arrested on Wednesday, in the region of Aklibat Akaya.

Paris, July 10, 2019 (SPS) - The Association of Friends of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic of France (AARASD) on Monday denounced the expulsion of Morocco activist Claude Mangin who tried Monday to visit her husband Naâma Asfari, a Saharawi political prisoner in Kenitra prison (Morocco).

Ecuadorian National Assembly Speaker receives Minister Delegate to Latin America

Quito (Ecuador), July 10, 2019 (SPS) - The Minister Delegate to Latin America, Mr. Omar Mansour, was received on Tuesday along with Sahrawi Republic  Ambassador to Ecuador, Ali Salem Sid-zain Salim, by the President of the Ecuadorian National Assembly Mr. Thessar Litorado at the headquarter  of the Ecuadorian Parliament.
Both parties has discussed the bilateral cooperation and ways to strengthen it  between the two countries as well as reinforcing  ties between the Sahrawi and Ecuadorian parliaments.

"After his election as the new president of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, I am pleased to express our sincere congratulations and best wishes. I wish him much success in his future and noble mission, "said the Saharawi leader in his letter.

Security, stability in North Africa to be achieved only with Western Sahara’s decolonization

Paris, July 1, 2019 (SPS) - South African activist for social justice, human rights and environment Catherine Constantinides affirmed that “security and stability in North Africa won’t be achieved without the decolonization of Western Sahara, stressing the need to resolve the conflict which has lasted more than 40 years.
Speaking in a colloquium at the French Assembly on Western Sahara and security challenges, Constantinides said “it is necessary to take advantage of this moment to avoid the return of war and instability to this region.”

British organisations launch campaign for release of Sahrawi political prisoners

London, June 30, 2019 (SPS) - Adala-UK and Western Sahara Action Forum (WSAF) have launched a campaign in the United Kingdom, through which they have sent a letter to Moroccan Ambassador in London urging him to call upon its country to stop human rights violations in Western Sahara and release all Sahrawi political prisoners.

Organized for the third time at the France’s Lower House, the conference on Western Sahara was an opportunity for speakers (academics, politicians and activists) to examine the issue from the perspective of security challenges in the Maghreb and Sahel region.
