Geneva (Switzerland), Sept 12, 2019 (SPS) - The Saharawi National Human Rights Commission has denounced the Moroccan regime's attempts to hide systematic human rights violations in the occupied areas of Western Sahara. The Saharawi commission has stated that Morocco strives to hide the massacre and crime against humanity against the Saharawi civilian population since the beginning of the illegal occupation of the Western Sahara territory in autumn 1975.

Algiers (Algeria) Sept 12, 2019 (SPS) - The ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in Algeria, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, has visited the Zimbabwean embassy to sign the sympathy book and transfer his deepest condolences to his Zimbabwean counterpart  following the death of former president and African leader Rober Mugabe.

Geneva (Switzerland), September 9, 2019 (SPS) - The 42nd Ordinary Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva kicked off Monday, with the participation of a Sahrawi civil society delegation comprising human rights and media activists from the Sahrawi refugee camps, community abroad and occupied territories of Western Sahara.

Shaheed al-Hafed, September 8, 2019 (WAS) - The National Secretariat of the Frente POLISARIO has approved the proposal of the list of the National Preparatory Committee for the 15th Congress of the Frente POLISARIO, submitted by the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat, in a statement following its meeting on Sunday, chaired by President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Ghali.

Bir Lehlu (Saharawi Republic) 6 September 2019 (SPS)- The Saharawi Republic declared in a press release issued by the Presidency on Friday, that the country and all its diplomatic representations abroad will observe 3 days of mourning for the death of the former President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe.
It is with “deep grief and sorrow, that we received at the Saharawi Presidency the news of the loss of former Zimbabwean President, the great African freedom fighter, Robert Mugabe, this Friday, 06 September 2019,” the text reads.

Gaborone (Botswana) 06 September 2019 (SPS)- The Sahrawi Ambassador to Botswana, Mr. Malainin Mohamed (Lakhal), presented his credentials as the Permanent Representative of the Sahrawi Republic to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) on Friday morning to the Executive Secretary of the SADC Secretariat, Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax, at SADC headquarters in Gaborone, Botswana.

Sao Paulo, Sept 05, 2019 (SPS) - The representative of the Frente POLISARIO in Brazil, Emboirik Ahmed, was received by Mr. Miguel Torres, president of the Brazilian Forza Sindical Trqde, at the headquarters of said union in the city of Sao Paulo, according to the source of the Representation of the POLISARIO in Brazil
At the meeting both parties discussed the situation in Brazil and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, agreeing to strengthen ties of friendship between Brazilian and Saharawi workers.

Dili (Timor Leste) August 31, 2019 (SPS) - President of Timor Leste, Dr. Francisco Guterres, has reiterated the firm support to the Sahrawi people and their right to self-determination in speech on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the referendum of the self-determination of the Timorese people, delivered on Thursday at the reception in honor of the participating foreign delegations and diplomatic corps.

Yokohama (Japan) 31 August 2019 (SPS)- The President of the Saharawi Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, regretted Japan’s complicity with Morocco in the illegal exploitation of Saharawi fishing resources, in a statement during a reception he granted on Saturday to members of Sahara-Japan Journalist Association (SJJA) in Yokohama, Japan.

Sidney (Australia) 31 August 2019 (SPS)- Australia Western Sahara Association (AWSA) announced the prominent organization of a visit and speaking tour to various Australian cities for a young Saharawi activist, Ms. Tecber Ahmed Saleh, which will take place from the 2nd to the 27th September 2019.
The visit will be an opportunity to “talk about the plight of her country, Western Sahara - Africa's last colony”, AWSA declared in a press release issued on the occasion.

Brazil, August 29, 2019 (SPS) - In a meeting with the representative of the Frente POLISARIO in Brazil, Emboirik Ahmed, the Brazilian Center for Health Studies of the Federal District, stands in solidarity with the Saharawi cause and acquires the commitment to cooperate with Saharawi health in refugee camps and in actions to spread the real situation of the health sector in external fields.
CEBES will work for other states to collaborate on a general project that, from Brazil, contributes to the improvement of health in refugee camps.

Yokohama (Japan) 29 August 2019 (SPS)- The President of the Saharawi Republic, Brahim Ghali, participated on Wednesday and Thursday to the 7th TICAD Summit, organized in Yokohama, Japan.
The Summit was co-shared by the current Chairperson of the African Union, Egyptian President, Abdelfattah Sissi, and the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzō Abe, under the theme: “Advancing Africa's Development through People, Technology and Innovation”.
