Chahid El Hafed,  Feb 27, 2018 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO expressed its satisfaction with the European Court of Justice ruling today, which excludes the territorial waters of Western Sahara from the fishing agreement between Morocco and the European Union.
POLISARIO, in accordance with the decision of the European Court of Justice, called on all vessels fishing in the territorial waters of Western Sahara to withdraw immediately from their positions.
 

Wilaya de Smara, Feb 27, 2018 (SPS) - The official celebrations for the 42nd Proclamation of the Saharawi Republic took place today in the wilaya of Samra with the presence of the President of the Republic , General Secretary of the Frente POLISARIO , Mr. Brahim Gali, and all the Sahrawi authorities and foreign delegations representing more than 20 countries.

Smara (Refugee Camps), Feb 26, 2018 (SPS) - The festivities of the second day for the celebration of the 42nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) were marked by a rich and varied programme comprising notably the organization of the Marathon of Sahara and a symbolic referendum on the Sahrawi people’s self-determination.
The referendum on self-determination was organized on the sidelines of the International Conference of Solidarity with the Sahrawi People in their peaceful resistance.

Attended by Sahrawi and foreign organizations, the event aims to draft “a new strategy of civil and peaceful resistance to snatch the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and independence.”

Wilaya of Smara (Refugee Camps), February 25, 2018 (SPS) - The works of the International Conference on Peaceful Resistance started Sunday morning in the wilaya of Smara in the Sahrawi Refugee Camps, under the name of Martyr Deida Uld Lyazid.
The event began in the presence of Responsible of the Political Organization of the Polisario, Front, Hama Salama, Minister of the Occupied Zones and Community Abroad, Bashir Mustafa Seyed, several official delegations from several countries, and a delegation of human rights from the Occupied Zones.

Port Elizabeth, South Africa, February 23, 2018 (SPS) - The High Court of South Africa on Friday issued a final ruling on the shipment of phosphates held in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, that the shipment belongs to the Sahrawi Republic, confirming that Morocco had never any ownership over Sahrawi phosphate. 

London, Feb 23, 2018 (SPS) - The Moroccan authorities used, in 2017, “unnecessary and excessive force” against the population of Western Sahara who claimed their right to self-determination and justice, affirmed the latest annual report of Amnesty International (AI) on the situation of human rights in the world, published on Thursday.
The authorities routinely used excessive and unnecessary force to disperse peaceful protests in Western Saharan cities, including Laayoune, Smara, Boujdour and Dakhla, » said teh report.

Brussels, Feb 22, 2018 (SPS) - The European Parliament Intergroup "Peace for the Saharawi people" expressed on Wednesday "deep concern" over the  European Commission’s "lack of transparency" during its negotiations with Morocco, about an additional agreement to the Association Agreement, in order to comply with the ruling of the European Court of Justice, of December 2016.

Brussels, Feb 22, 2018 (SPS) - The participants in the conference “trade unionists and solidarity with Western Sahara” organized Monday and Tuesday at the European Parliament in Brussels expressed their “deep concern” over the continuing plundering of Western Sahara’s natural resources, calling on EU and its institutions to “clearly condemn” any illegal exploitation of these resources.

Lisbon, Feb 21, 2018 (SPS) - The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, said on Monday at a press conference after being awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Lisbon that the African crises must be resolved by African leaders.
Guterres said he is "a great defender of African leadership" to solve the problems affecting the continent and that "the United Nations should be a focus of support for African initiatives."
