42nd anniversary of the shameful Madrid agreements

Chahid El Hafed, Nov 14, 2017 (SPS) - Today is the 42nd anniversary of the signing of the infamous Madrid Accord, which meant the abandonment of Spain to its historical responsibilities towards the Saharawi people, in breach of its obligation to conclude decolonization of Western Sahara, through the holding of a referendum of self-determination, as settled by the United Nations in 1966.
 

Polisario Front renews support for international efforts aimed at decolonization of Western Sahara

Shaheed El-Hafed (Refugee Camps), November 13, 2017 (SPS) - The National Secretariat of the Polisario Front met on Saturday and Sunday in its 5th and 6th ordinary sessions, chaired by Secretary-General, President of the Republic, Brahim Gali, has renewed its willingness to cooperate with the international efforts aimed at the decolonization of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa, in accordance with the charter and resolutions of the United Nations and African Union.

Moroccan forces attack Saharawi citizens in occupied El-Aaiun

El-Aaiun (Occupied Territories), November 13, 2017 (SPS) - Moroccan forces, in civil clothes, mobilized Saturday evening hundreds of Moroccan settlers in the streets and alleys of the occupied city of El-Aaiun, after a football match between the Moroccan team and its Ivorian counterpart ended. 
Incited by police, crowds of Moroccan settlers stormed the alleys and streets where Sahrawis live, carrying out barbaric attacks against them and raiding their houses and shops and stealing their properties.

Thousands of demonstrators in Madrid in favor of a referendum on self-determination in Western Sahara

Madrid, Nov 12, 2017 (SPS) -  Thousand of  people representing Spanish solidarity associations with the Saharawi people and members of the Saharawi community living in Spain demonstrated Saturday in Madrid to demand the holding of a referendum on self-determination in Western Sahara as soon as possible.
The protesters waved Sahrawi flags, banners in which slogans are written asking for peace for the Saharawi people, the right to self-determination and justice and respect for human rights in the occupied Saharawi territories."

National Secretariat of Polisario Front holds its sixth ordinary session

Shaheed El-Hafed, November 12, 2017 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, on Saturday oversaw a meeting of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front of its sixth ordinary session.
The session discusses the report of the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat, which held a meeting on Wednesday, and different points related to the developments of the national cause on various fronts.

PODEMOS urges Spanish Government to prevent plundering of Western Sahara natural resources (Press)

Las Palmas (Canary Islands), November 12, 2017 (SPS) - PODEMOS at the Parliament of the Canary Islands has registered a proposition, in which the regional chamber is required to urge the Spanish Government to demonstrate opposition to the European Commission on the claim to renegotiate the trade agreement between the European Union and Morocco, which would legitimize the plundering of the natural resources of Western Sahara.
The proposal coincides with the 42nd anniversary of the evacuation of Western Sahara by the Spanish army and the Moroccan invasion of the territory.

Polisario Front participates in Conference of Progressive Alliance in Costa Rica

San José (Costa Rica), November 11, 2017 (SPS) - Saharawi Ambassador, Suliman Tieb Henan, took part in the Conference of the Progressive Alliance, which was inaugurated Friday in the City of San José, Costa Rica, according to a statement of the SADR Embassy in Nicaragua.
The Conference is attended by progressive political parties from European, Africa and Latin American countries, many of which are in power.
