Algiers, June 02, 2016 (SPS) - Speaker of the Council of the Nation Abdelkader Messahel signed Wednesday at the headquarters of the embassy of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Algiers the condolence book, following the death of Sahrawi president Mohamed Abdelaziz.

Algiers, June 02, 2016 (SPS) - The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa sent a message of condolences to the Speaker of the Sahrawi National Assembly Khatri Addouh, following the death of Sahrawi President Mohamed Abdelaziz in which he affirmed that the deceased was a great activist for a sovereign Sahrawi Republic.
“It is with deep sadness that I learnt of the news of the death of President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Mujaheed Mohamed Abdelaziz,” wrote Ould Khelifa in his message.

Political parties, national organizations pay tribute to late Sahrawi president

Algiers, June 02, 2016 (SPS) - Several political parties and national organizations on Wednesday have paid tribute to Sahrawi President Mohamed Abdelaziz, who died Tuesday, at the age of 68, after a long illness.
In messages of condolence to the family of the deceased and to the Sahrawi people, political parties and national organizations expressed deep sadness at the loss of the Sahrawi leader.

Danish Social Democratic Youth (DSU) calls on its Government to recognize Western Sahara as independent state

Copenhagen (Denmark, June 02, 2016 (SPS) - The main board of Danish Social Democratic Youth (DSU) adopted  a  resolution in solidarity with the just struggle of the Saharawi people  stating that DSU support for the Saharawi cause, urging Denmark to recognize Western Sahara, urging the international community to grant Western Sahara an observant seat at UN and pushing for referendum. 
On the occasion of Danish constitution day, DSU will launch an online campaign to support a referendum and recognition of Western Sahara as an independent state.

Sahrawi President's death: EUCOCO pays tribute to memory of great African leader

Brussels,  June 02, 2016 (SPS) - The European Coordination Conference for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO) paid Wednesday tribute to the memory of Sahrawi President Mohamed Abdelaziz, died on Tuesday, hailing “a great African leader who knew how to lead his people towards the path of freedom and independence.”

Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, has learnt with great sadness the passing away of the President of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, H.E. Mohamed Abdelaziz. The Saharawi leadership officially announced the death on 31 May 2016. He was in his sixties.

Havana, June 01, 2016 -  the Sister Republic of Cuba through the Council of State decreed official mourning following the death of the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz.
According to information from the national television of Cuba released by the Cuban agency Prensa Latina, "the State Council of the Republic of Cuba agreed to declare official mourning from 06:00 hours on June 1 until 12:00 the night of 2 of June".SPS

Finnish Communist Party extends condolences over passing away of President Mohamed Abdelaziz

Helnski , 06  jui 2016(SPS)-The Communist Party of Finland has offered condolences to the family of the late President Mohamed Abdelaziz, the Frente Polisario and the Saharawi people as a whole, according to the Saharawi representation in Finland.
In a statement issued by its chairman Juha-Pekka Väisänen, the Finnish political party said the deceased Saharawi president has fervently fought to express to all the international community the right of the Saharawi people to become an independent nation, said the source.

Bir Lahlou,  May 31, 2016 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz passed away Tuesday May 31, 2016 following a long illness, according to a statement  issued  today by the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front.
The National Secretariat expressed its condolences to the Sahrawi people and announced 40 days of national mourning.

Moroccan occupying authorities crack violently down Unemployed Sahrawi peaceful sit-in

Occupied Aaiun, May 31, 2016 (SPS) – Various formations of Moroccan repressive forces intervened on Monday against  a peaceful sit-in organized by Unemployed Sahrawi in the Occupied Aaiun, leaving injuries among the unemployed, said the Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.
 
They organized the sit-in to demand their basic rights, especially the benefit of their wealth, stressing in the same context, adherence to their legitimate demands despite the intransigence of the Moroccan regime.SPS
