Saharawi political prisoner "Yahya Mohamed Al Hafed Iaaza" Transfered back to the hospital

Occupied Aiun, June 20, 2013(SPS)- the prison administration of the local prison of Ait Melloul was forced to transfer the Saharawi political prisoner "Yahya Mohamed Al Hafed Iaaza" to regional hospital Inzagan  following the deterioration of his health, says CODESA

 

The administration of the said prison had moved the Saharawi political prisoner to the hospital, on June 12, 2013 under tight security Moroccan gendarmerie.

Algiers, June 20, 2013 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, Mr. Mourad Medelci confirmed Wednesday, during a press conference along with his Spanish counterpart, that Algeria "wants to make the international community aware of the more urgency to find a concrete, just and permanent solution to the situation of the Saharawi people and working on enabling them to exercise their right to self-determination"

 

Algeria requires respect for its position on Western Sahara for the reopening of its border with Morocco

Algiers, June19, 2013 (SPS) - The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, Amar Balani, said Wednesday that Algeria requires, as a condition, respect for its position on Western Sahara for the reopening of its borders with Morocco, "we consider an incomplete decolonization process that must be resolved within the framework of the United Nations, in accordance with international law".

Saharawi missing people buried in communal graves

CHAHID EL HAFED, June 19, 2013 (SPS)- The Association of Saharawi Missing People’s Families has discovered communal graves in the occupied territories, one of which contains the remains of 60 people, said Monday Abdesslam Omar, the association’s president.

 

Omar called on the United Nations to take an urgent action to preserve the evidence about the violations perpetrated by Moroccan authorities, noting that the discovery was made with the help of international organizations, including the Spanish.

UN Decolonization Committee: Algeria hails quality of debates

Algiers, June 17, 2013 (SPS) - Algeria hailed Monday the quality of debates at the United Nations on the implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples, especially regarding Western Sahara.


“We hail the quality of debates, held recently in New York during a session of the committee in charge of assessing the implementation of the Convention on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples,” said the Spokesperson of Algerian Foreign Ministry Mr. Amar Belani.

International conference on Saharawi child’s rights kicked off in Saharawi refugee camps

Boujdour (refugee camps), June 17, 2013 (SPS) - The 2nd International Conference on the Saharawi Child’s Rights kicked off Monday in the Saharawi refugee camps marking the Day of the African Child, in the aim to aware about the suffering of Saharawi children.


The two-day conference is co-organized by the Algerian National Consultatuive Commission for Human Rights Promotion and Protection (CNCPPDH) and Saharawi human rights organizations.

Saharawi prisoner denied access to medical treatment in El Aaiun jail

El Aaiun (occupied territories), June 17, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi political prisoner Hassanna Elouali was denied access to medical treatment the administration of the Moroccan local prison in the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, according to a source of CODESA.


The Saharawi political prisoner has suffered over the past ten days of high fever, headache, pain in the neck and shoulders, according to the same source.

SADR takes part at 20th Conference of AU Ministers of Industry in Kenya

Addis Ababa, June 17, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi Republic (SADR) has taken part at the 20th Ordinary Session of AU Conference of Ministers of Industry, convened in the Kenyan capital (Nairobi) the period from 10 to 14 June under the theme “Accelerating Industrialization for Africa within the Post-2015 Development Agenda”, according to SADR embassy in Ethiopia.


SADR was represented at the meeting by its Ambassador in Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union Mr. Laman Baali.
