Copenhagen (Denmark), Oct 31, 2011 (SPS) - The Danish NGO Afrika Kontakt (Africa Contact) received Sunday the Danish People’s Movement year Award for its work against the EU-Morocco fisheries agreement that illegally included Western Sahara.

“This year the price goes to an organization that is not afraid to criticize when the EU pillages in Africa,” said Sunday Mr. Lave Knud Broch, member of the Danish People’s Movement against the EU in his address at their national Congress.

El Aaiun (occupied territories), Oct 31, 2011 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation authorities prevented Sunday around 02: 30 am the European MP, Mr. Willy Meyer, and the Spanish lawyer, José Pérez Ventura, from entering to the Saharawi occupied city of El Aaiun.

According to a testomony of the Saharawi activist, Ms. Aminatou Haidar, Moroccan police prevented the two spaniards to step down from the plane amid tight siege surrounding the airport by the Moroccan intelligence, adding that Willy Meyer has been subjected to physical and oral assault.

Algiers, Oct 30, 2011 (SPS) - “The African Union still supports the people of Western Sahara in their struggle for their right to self-determination,” said Saturday in the Algerian capital the AU Commissioner for Social Affairs, Ms. Bience Philomena Gawanas.

In a speech to the press during the 2nd International Conference on the Peoples’ Right to Resistance: case of the Saharawi People, Ms. Gawanas said “I come to Algeria to express the solidarity of the African Union and peoples with struggle waged by the Saharawi people for independence.”
