Western Sahara: France wishes implementation of MINURSO
Algiers, March 29, 2016 (SPS) - France supports "the implementation of the mission" of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (Minurso), French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, Jean-Marc Ayrault.
"As for Western Sahara, France's position remains unchanged. We support implementation of the Minurso," he stated at a joint press conference with Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra.
Sahrawi army is prepared to respond to any eventuality
Bir Lahlou, March 29,2016 (SPS) .- The Saharawi troops have begun military exercises to raise the level of readiness and combat capability of the Sahrawi fighter to defend national sovereignty and to face all kinds of threats and eventualities.
Troops from the Fifth Region SPLA (Saharawi People´s Liberation Army) have conducted military exercises Monday in the region of Bir Lahlou in accordance to orders of Staff of the Saharawi Army
Sahrawi government holds a meeting on the latest developments of the national cause
Chahid El Hafid, March 29, 2016 (SPS) - Sahrawi government held on Tuesday meeting chaired by Prime Minister, member of the National Secretariat Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, to study the latest developments of the national cause.
The meeting discussed the latest developments of the national cause, as well as sensitization of the procedures taken at the national and local levels.
The meeting will also study the procedures of the security cell, in addition to briefing on the recent two visit to Algeria and Mauritania.SPS

Solidarity sit-in with Saharawi Political Prisoners "Gdeim Izik" in Cantabria
Cantabria (Spain), March 29, 2016 (SPS) - Cantabria association for the Western Sahara organized sit-in in solidarity with the Saharawi political prisoners Gdeim Izik group on their hunger strike for 29 days.
During the sit-in a statement issued by co-ordination of the Spanish association of friendship and solidarity with the Saharawi people, voicing the sympathy of the Spanish civil society in support of Sahrawi issue and Sahrawi political prisoners on hunger strike, demanding the occupying Moroccan authorities to release them.
Algeria, SADR hold consultation meeting

South African Ambassador to Algeria reiterates support for right of Saharawi people to self-determination
Algiers, March 27, 2016 (SPS) - South Africa's ambassador to Algeria Mr. Denis Tokozana Dlomo, has reaffirmed his country's support for the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence.
This came during a reception on Saturday at the SADR Embassy in Algiers by the Sahrawi Ambassador Mr. Bushraya Hamoudi Bayoun. The meeting focused on the bilateral relations between the two countries, the Sahrawi Republic and South Africa, as well as the common struggle of the two peoples against colonialism and expansion.
Aggravation of health state of Gdeim Izik prisoners, families protest in front of prison commission in Rabat
Rabat (Morocco) 26March 2016 (SPS) - The health state of Sahrawi prisoners of the group of Gdeim Izik camp has deteriorated sharply as a result of the complications of the unlimited hunger strike they have been waging for 26 days, according to the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Community Abroad.
The Moroccan authorities responded to their legitimate demands with total disregard, which prompted the families of the prisoners to organize sit-ins to demand saving their lives.
Sahrawi authorities call on Security Council to stop Rabat's escalation against UN
Bir Lahlou (liberated territories), 26 March 2016 (SPS) -The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and the Polisario Front have deplored, once again, "the stated willingness of the Moroccan occupier to put an end to the peace process" by dismantling the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), calling on the Security Council to "stop Rabat's escalation against Morocco."
Polisario Front backs Security Council's call to maintain MINURSO mandate
Washington (United States), 26 March 2016 (SPS) - Polisario Front has expressed support to United Nations Security Council's call for the keeping of the mandate of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), Sahrawi representative to the UN, Ahmed Boukhari, said Friday.
Boukhari asks for "firm measures" against Morocco.
"We support and back Security Council's call to Morocco for the MINURSO to be able to carry on its mission, based on Security Council resolutions," Boukhari told APS.
