Youth and Sport Minister hold several meetings in Italy

Rome (Italy), August 04, 2016 (SPS) - The Minister of Youth and Sport Mr. Ahmed Lahbib Abdi held yesterday several meetings in Italy, as part of his tour, the latter aims to strengthen and activate several projects which will support youth and sport programs in the Sahrawi Refugee Camps.

President of Republic honours baccalaureate degree holders

Auserd (refugee camps), August 03, 2016 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Brahim Gali on Wednesday  morning oversaw a ceremony to honour the Saharawi students who earned the baccalaureate degree this year, in the presence of the Governor of Auserd  , minister of education, and other members of the government and Polisario Front's National Secretariat.

President Brahim Gali handed over recognition certificates and symbolic awards to the first 16 students in the list.

Western Sahara: South-African women groups call for end of Morocco's occupation

Windhoek (Namibia), August 02, 2016 (SPS) -  South-African women's groups PAWO-SARO have called, in a petition to the secretary-general of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, for a an end to the illegal occupation of Western Sahara by Morocco and human rights violations perpetrated by Moroccan occupation forces.
The petition signatories demand that referendum on Western Sahara people's self-determination be held in February 2017, to allow Saharawis to decide freely on their own fate.

President Brahim Ghali hails resistance of Saharawi political prisoners

Pawo-Saro demands peace and stability in Western Sahara

Windhoek, 31 JUL (SPS) – Human rights violation committed against the Saharawi people, illegal and shameful exploitation of natural resources by members of the European Union (EU) and Morocco's unlawful occupancy over Western Sahara must come to an immediate end.

Noose around Morocco tightens, voices calling for Western Sahara people's self-determination rise

New York, July 29, 2016 (SPS) - The noose is tightening around Morocco, whose international isolation is more and more felt, as the African Union (AU) stressed the need for Saharawi people to fully enjoy their legitimate rights and the Security Council has just called for the resumption of negotiations between Rabat and the Polisario Front, to reach an agreement on holding a referendum on Western Sahara people's self-determination.
 

Sahrawi government calls for immediate release of Gdeim Izik Prisoners

Bir Lehlou, July 29, 2016 (SPS) – The Government of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) appealed Thursday to the United Nations, African Union and European Union as well as defenders of justice, freedom and human rights around the world to immediately intervene for the release of Gdeim Izik and all Sahrawi political prisoners languishing at Moroccan prisoners.

Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik: AI calls for fair civil trial

London, July 28, 2016 (SPS) - The human rights organization Amnesty International (AI) called, on Wednesday, for a fair civil trial in accordance with international standards for the Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik, arbitrarily held by the Moroccan occupation authorities.
After the first unfair trial in 2013, before a military court, the new civil trial is expected to be "fair, in accordance with fair trial standards and based on impartial investigation," said the NOG.
