Polisario Front reiterates willingness to cooperate with efforts of United Nations for decolonization of Western Sahara

Shaheed El-Hafed (Refugee Camps), January 6, 2018 (SPS) - The Polisario Front reiterated on Thursday its willingness to cooperate with the efforts of the United Nations for the decolonization of Western Sahara and the application of the provisions of the peace plan of the African Union-United Nations of 1991 aimed at organizing the referendum on self-determination so that the Saharawi people can decide their own future.

WSRW denounces the illegal financing of the EU to the fishing projects of Morocco in occupied Western Sahara

London, Jan 05, 2018 (SPS) - The Observatory of Western Sahara Resources Watch (WSRW) has denounced the illegal financing of the European Union to the fishing projects of Morocco in occupied Western Sahara.
WSRW affirmed that in 2017, Morocco devoted most of the financial support of the European Union (EU) to fisheries for the illegal development of this industry in occupied Western Sahara, with the "explicit approval" of the European Union.

Sahrawi Lawyers Union denounces plunder of Western Sahara resources

Chahid El-Hafed, Jan 02, 2018 (SPS) – The General Assembly of the Sahrawi Lawyers Union has denounced the plunder and the illegal exploitation of Western Sahara natural resources by the Moroccan occupation forces.
The Union also denounced the unfair trials of the detainees of Gdeim Izik group, calling on the international community to put pressure on Morocco to bring it to comply with the international law and create a UN body for the protection of the Sahrawi people.

Uruguayan Parliament expresses support for Sahrawi people's struggle

Montevideo (Uruguay), January 1, 2018 (SPS) - Member of the Uruguayan Senate, Robin Martinez, from the National Party, made a statement before the Senate that received the unanimous support of its members, in which he expressed support to the struggle of the Sahrawi people and their just cause. 
The speaker reviewed the historical course of the conflict in Western Sahara, calling for the embodiment of international legitimacy and the empowerment of the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination and independence.

Japanese delegation expelled from occupied city of El Aaiun

El Aaiun (occupied territories), Dec 30, 2017 (SPS) - Moroccan authorities on Friday expelled two Japanese university professors from El Aaiun towards Casablanca.
The two Japanese researchers, Akihisa Matsuno, a professor at Osaka University, and his wife Kiyoko Furusawa, a professor at Christian Women's University in Tokyo, arrived Thursday night in occupied El Aaiun, at the invitation of ASVDH to find out about the human rights situation in Western Sahara, and hold meetings with Saharawi associations and media.

Uruguay Senate reaffirms its support to Saharawi cause

Montevideo (Uruguay), Dec 28, 2017 (SPS) - The Senate of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay unanimously adopted a resolution expressing support to the cause of the Saharawi people.
The speech that was delivered by the deputy Frente Amplio, Martínez Huelmo, made a review of the history of the conflict, highlighting the resolutions of international law, which endorse the aspirations of the Saharawi people.

Agüeinit  (Liberated Sahrawi territories)- Sahrawi Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar has urged, Wednesday in Aghouinit, Sahrawi southern populations Community to "step up struggle and support Polisario Front."
The Sahrawi premier called on the participants in the meeting of southern populations Community "to step up struggle at all levels," recalling that "Sahrawis in the occupied territories need support, solidarity and protection."
