Sahrawi journalist assaulted by Moroccan security forces
Occupied El Aaiun, November 19, 2024 (SPS) - Sahrawi journalist and coordinator of Equip Media, Mohammed Mayara, was subjected to a brutal assault today, Tuesday, by agents of the Moroccan security forces, reported Equip Media website.
According to the site, Mohammed Mayara was attacked around 9 a.m. local time in occupied El Aaiun by men in civilian clothing who were riding a motorcycle and spoke with a clear Moroccan accent.
Sahrawi Observatory for Natural Resources Monitoring denounces Ryanair's decision to launch routes to Dakhla
Shaheed El Hafed (Refugee Camps), 18 November 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Observatory for Natural Resources Monitoring has condemned Ryanair's decision to launch new direct flights connecting Dakhla, in the occupied Sahrawi territories, to Madrid and the Canary Islands, calling on the airline to "reconsider its decision."
"We urge Ryanair to immediately reconsider this decision and to put an end to any plans to operate flights to Dakhla," the Observatory wrote in a letter addressed to the airline's CEO, Michael O'Leary.

Minister of Communication received by his Algerian counterpart
Algiers, November 18, 2024 (SPS) - The Algerian Minister of Communication, Mr. Mohamed Laqab, received his Sahrawi counterpart, Hamada Salma, at his his ministry. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to Algeria, Abdelkader Taleb Omar.
The meeting was an opportunity to review various aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of media and communication, recognizing the importance and role of this sector in addressing national and international issues.
Office of National Secretariat reviews past national events and prepares for upcoming ones
Shaheed Al-Hafed, November 17, 2024 (SPS) - The Office of National Secretariat of the Polisario Front held a meeting this today, Sunday, chaired by President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali.
The meeting focused on evaluating and studying the overall situation (diplomatic, political, military, and security), specifically the past national events and preparations for upcoming ones, as well as addressing the national cause and regional, national, and international situations.
Minister of Public Health receives representative of World Doctors of Spain
Shaheed Al-Hafed, November 17, 2024 (SPS) - Minister of Public Health, Mr. Salek Baba Hasana, received the representative of the World Doctors of Spain, who paid a farewell visit after the conclusion of his mission.
During the meeting, the minister expressed his gratitude to the representative for his outstanding work with the Ministry of Public Health and for the contributions he made while representing the organization over the past few years.
Frente POLISARIO Representative at the UN: “Madrid agreement” does not have any legal effect on the international status of Western Sahara
New York (United Nations), 16 November 2024 (SPS) - On the forty-ninth anniversary of the signing of the “Madrid agreement”, Dr Sidi Mohamed Omar, Member of the National Secretariat, Representative of the Frente POLISARIO at the UN and Coordinator with MINURSO, wrote an article outlining the position of the United Nations regarding the agreement in light of the UN’ reaffirmation of the international situation of Western Sahara as a decolonisation issue.

Massive demonstration in Madrid in Solidarity with Sahrawi People's Struggle and denouncing continuation of Moroccan occupation
Madrid (Spain), November 16, 2024 (SPS) - Thousands of Spanish demonstrators and the Sahrawi community in Spain participated Saturday in solidarity demonstrations in the capital, Madrid, supporting the Sahrawi people's struggle and condemning the ongoing Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara.
The demonstrators carried flags of the Sahrawi Republic and banners reaffirming the Sahrawi people's right to freedom and independence.
