Washington (United States), April 15, 2017 (SPS) - US Western Sahara  Foundation urged President Donald Trump to take action to end the illegal occupation of Western Sahara, stressing that King of Morocco Mohamed VI undermines the UN-sponsored self-determination process.
In a letter to US president on the eve of a meeting to be held Sunday with Morocco's King, Suzanne Sholte, the NGO's chairwoman, called on the American administration to launch a strong signal to the international community for the settlement of Western Sahara issue, putting an end to occupation.

International Youth and Students Conference concludes its work by calling for an accelerated decolonization of Western Sahara

Dakhla, April,  13 2017 (SPS) - The International Youth and Students Conference in Solidarity with Saharawi People has concluded Thursday its work by calling for the urgent need for the decolonization of Western Sahara.
 
In his speech, the Secretary-General of the Students' Union, Moulay Emhamed Brahim has expressed his thanks to Dakhla authorities for their good reception and for providing all the necessary conditions for the success of this international solidarity event.
 

Tunisian lawyer dubs the situation of Saharawi refugee camps as "catastrophic"

Dajla (Saharawi Refugee Camps), April 13, 2017 (SPS)- Tunisian lawyer Ms. Fatima Elmatili said Wednesday in Dajla that the situation of the Sahrawi refugee camps is "catastrophic" which underlines the need for an urgent solution to the Saharawi question.
Speaking to the Saharawi news agency on the sidelines of the International Youth and Students Conference in Solidarity with Sahrawi people in Dajla, the Tunisian lawyer praised the commitment and firmness with which the Saharawi people struggle to exercise their right to freedom and independence.

Participants in International Conference condemn violations of human rights and plundering of natural resources of Western Sahara

Dajla (Saharawi Refugee Camps), April 13, 2017 (SPS)- the  Participants in the International Youth and Students Conference in Solidarity Sahrawi people held in Dajla voived their support with Saharawi political prisoners and condemned their  farce trial.
In a peaceful sit-in this Wednesday afternoon in the dunes of Dajla, outside the work of the Conference, participants carried banners with slogans condemning the plundering of Saharawi natural resources.

New York, April 12,  2017 (SPS) - in 2016, Morocco has prevented UN human rights monitoring missions from visiting occupied territories in Western Sahara, said the UN Tuesday, expressing concern about torture and degrading inhuman treatment inflicted to the Sahrawi people.

Algiers,10 April 2017 (SPS)  – High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini said Sunday in Algiers the EU position regarding Western Sahara issue has not changed and "strongly supports" the UN efforts to achieve a political just, lasting and mutually acceptable solution which guarantees self-determination to the Sahrawi people.
