Zimbabwe National Assembly Speaker affirms unbroken support to Saharawi cause

Harare, August 20, 2015 (SPS) - Speaker of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe, Mr. Jacob Mudenda, has renewed his country’s endless support to the legitimate struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence, in a meeting with Saharawi ambassador Deich Mohamed Saleh.


Mr. Jacob reaffirmed the principled position to Saharawi cause has long shown by the Republic of Zimbabwe in the international forums.

Saharawi activist tortured by Moroccan police at Casablanca airport

Casablanca, August 20, 2015 (SPS) - Moroccan police forces on Tuesday severely tortured the Sahrawi activist, Leila Lili, at Casablanca airport on her return from Algiers, where she took part in the 6th edition of the Summer University of Polisario Front and SADR cadres, said a source from the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.


Moroccan police officers subjected the activist Leila Lili to inspection and degrading harassment of human dignity.

WSRW Chair begins visit to Saharawi refugee camps

Land mine explosion injures Sahrawi minor

Tantan (Southern Morocco) August 16, 2015 (SPS) – Small size land mine detonated Friday in Lemsaid region, 70 km east to Tantan city in southern Morocco, injuring Sahrawi minor Amin Haiba, according to Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA).

 

The source indicated that the victim was taken to the regional hospital in Tantan, and then transferred to a hospital in Guelmim city in southern Morocco as some fragments could not be removed from his left leg.

 

Documentary "Life Is Waiting - Referendum and Resistance in Western Sahara" Screened in Copenhagen

Creation of National Preparatory Committee of XIV Conference of Polisario Front

Shaheed el Hafed (Refugee Camps), August 15, 2015 (SPS) - The National Secretariat of the Polisario Front announced Thursday the formation of the National Preparatory Committee for XIV Cnference of the Polisario Front scheduled to be held at the end of this year.

 

The Committee, which will commence its work within the time limits specified by law, includes members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, the SADR government, as well as executives from various sectors of the state.

 

Saharawi council for vocational training established

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), August 11, 2015 (SPS) - The Ministry of Vocational Training, Employees and Public Function on Monday created a national council concerned with the affairs of vocational training .


According to the Ministerial Decree No. 02/2015 of 9 August 2015 on its establishment, the Council is an advisory body that coordinates and implements vocational training plans for various sectors of the Saharawi state.

Swedish government renews support to Saharawi people’s self-determination

Västerås (Sweden), August 11, 2015 (SPS) - Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven said his government is launching an in-depth study to identify ways to be followed to find an accelerated peaceful and lasting solution to Western Sahara conflict, reiterating his country’s position of support to the right of the Saharawi people to free self-determination, in a speech delivered at the closing ceremony of the 38th congress of the Swedish Democratic Party Youth League.

CRA to send humanitarian aid to Sahrawi refugees

Algiers, 10 August 2015 (SPS) - The Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) has decided to send humanitarian aid to the Sahrawi refugees consisting of a large quantity of foodstuffs and medicines, said Sunday CRA’s President Saida Benhabyles.

 

CRA will grant humanitarian aid of 316 tonnes of foodstuffs and a large quantity of medicines, said Benhabyles in a press conference held jointly with her Sahrawi counterpart Buhobeini Yahia.

 

Polisario Front urges UN to take on responsibility for rapid implementation of resolution 1514

Boumerdes (Algeria), 10 Augast 2015 (SPS) –Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, in Charge of the Political Branches, Salem Lebsir, Saturday urged the United Nations to take on its responsibility for the rapid implementation of the UN 1514 resolution on the granting of independence to colonial countries and peoples, particularly Western Sahara as the last colony in Africa.

 

Morocco accused of being behind terrorist attacks in Mali

Algiers, August 9, 2015 (SPS) .- Morocco is accused of being behind the latest terrorist attacks executed in Mali by the jihadist group MUJWA in order to wreck the good offices of Algeria in the neighboring country.

 

The attacks resumption in Mali just some months after the signing of the peace and reconciliation agreement in Algiers is more than enough proof of the aims of this movement whose finances come mainly from trafficking hashish and cocaine.

 

Algerian political forces renew support for struggle of Saharawi people

Boumerdes (Algeria), 9 June 2015 (SPS) - Several Algerian political forces reiterated on Saturday their support for the just struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence during speeches at the closing ceremony of the work of the VI edition of the Summer University, in Boumerdes, Algeria.

 

The presidents of the political parties have unanimously expressed Algeria's support for the just struggle of the Saharawi people.
