Documentary "Life Is Waiting - Referendum and Resistance in Western Sahara" Screened in Copenhagen

Copenhagen, (Denmark) August 15th, 2015 – The documentary about Saharawi struggle "Life is Waiting: Referendum and Resistance in Western Sahara" was screened yesterday at the World Culture Center in Copenhagen.

 

The movie Chronicles the situation of the Saharawi people under 40 years of Morocco’s occupation; arrests, torture and disappearances for demanding their independence and the forms of the Saharawi nonviolent resistance

 

The screening of the documentary was organized by Western Sahara Solidarity group in the Danish Africa Kontakt Organisation and was attended by a considerable audience that participated in the debate about the issue of Western Sahara.

 

The event was also an opportunity for Afrika Kontakt to make presentation about its new project, building Media Center in Saharawi Refugee Camps.

 

Directed by Iara Lee, "Life is Waiting: Referendum and Resistance in Western Sahara" is a 2015 release from Cultures of Resistance Films.

 

The documentary is currently being screened at film festivals around the world.(SPS)
