Angola condemns human rights violations in Western Sahara

New York, Oct 13, 2013 (SPS) - The Republic of Angola has condemned the human rights violations occurring in Western Sahara, appealing to the end of the illegal exploration of its natural resources by Morocco.


In the intervention of its delegation at the UN Fourth Committee, Angola said that it is certain that the people of Western Sahara “are entitled to self-determination through open reform, adding that it is “an inalienable right, and it is based on the principles embodied in the UN Charter.”

Polisario Front reaffirms willingness to cooperate with Christopher Ross

UGT Murcia renews solidarity with Saharawi people’s struggle

Murcia (Spain), Oct 6, 2013 (SPS) - Murcia’s General Union of Workers has reiterated its solidarity with the legitimate struggle and just cause of the Saharawi people, during the opening ceremony of its 13th congress, taking place on October 5-6, informed Polisario office in Murcia.


Representatives of the political parties, trade unions and civil society organizations, who took the rhetoric floor, expressed support to the just struggle waged for decades by the Saharawi people for freedom and self-determination.

CNASPS delegation to take part at UN Fourth Committee

Algiers, Oct 6, 2013 (SPS) - A delegation of the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi People (CNASPS) will take part at the 4th Committee of the United Nations in New York, to be convened from 7 to 13 October, 2013.


“Members of the delegation will, in this meeting, call for the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence, and the respect for human rights in the occupied Western Sahara,” announced CNASPS, in a statement on Sunday.

Western Sahara on agenda of UN Decolonization Committee

New York, Oct 5, 2013 (SPS) - The United Nations Committee in charge of special political issues and decolonization, also known as the Fourth Committee or Committee of 24, unanimously adopted Friday its work program which will focus on the issue of decolonization of 16 non-autonomous territories, including the Western Sahara , said the UN.


The Committee will begin its work with a general debate to be held from October 7 to 14, which focus on the decolonization issues of the 16 Non-Self-Governing Territories concerned.

Council of Ministers deplores repressive practices against Saharawi civilians in Assa and southern Morocco

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Oct 5, 2013 (SPS) - The Council of Ministers has strongly condemned and deplored the brutal and repressive practices carried out by Moroccan authorities against the defenseless Saharawi civilians, most atrocious of which was the assassination of the young Saharawi Rashid Shin Al-Mamoun in Assa, renewing the words of condolences and solidarity with the family of the martyr and with the Saharawi people as a whole.

President of Republic bids farewell to Saharawi pilgrims

Boujdour (refugee camps), Oct 4, 2013 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz oversaw Thursday evening a ceremony to bid farewell to the sixth batch of Saharawi pilgrims, travelling to the holy sites in Mecca to perform the rituals of Hajj (pilgrimage) for the year 1434 AH.
