Self-determination referendum must be organized

London, July 3, 2016 (SPS) - The founder of the British association "Sandblast" of support to Western Sahara Danielle Smith affirmed Saturday evening, in London, that the referendum on Sahrawi people’s self-determination must be organized, regretting Morocco’s stubbornness to challenge the international legality.

UN decolonization committee to meet on Western Sahara soon

Washington (United Nations), July 3, 2016 (SPS) - United Nations Special Committee on Decolonization (Committee of 24) is to hold a special session on Western Sahara shortly, said the agency's chairman, Rafael Dario Ramirez Carreno.
The committee's members have agreed on holding the meeting to push forward the decolonization process in Western Sahara, through an "effective and broad" exchange of ideas on the issue, Ramirez Carreno said.

Violent suppression of protest against plundering of Western Sahara's natural resources

Occupied Aaiun, June 30, 2016 (SPS) - Moroccan occupation forces intervened violently to disperse a Sahrawi protest against the presence of the Polish company Geofizyka Krakow in Western Sahara, working for Morocco, said Wesdnesday the Sahrawi news agency SPS.
"The company has been contracted by Morocco to conduct seismic studies in the occupied territories of Western Sahara," said the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Sahrawi Community Abroad, quoted by SPS.
