The Sahrawi Red Crescent distributes aid to the victims affected by the recent rainfall in Dakhla refugee camps

Chahid El-Hafed (Sahrawi Republic) 24 September 2024 (SPS) - The Central Directorate of First Aid at the Sahrawi Red Crescent began on Tuesday distributing aid to families affected by the recent rainfall in Dakhla refugee camps.

In its daily briefing, the Sahrawi Red Crescent added that the aid distribution, carried out in collaboration with the regional authorities of the province and under the supervision of the Emergency Committee, will continue over the coming days.

Today, an emergency field hospital was established, equipped with essential medicines and medical supplies, as well as an ambulance and other service vehicles.

The intervention of the units came in accordance with the instructions of the Emergency Committee and the Ministry of National Defense, and in response to a request from the local authorities of Dakhla.

Shahid El-Hafed (Sahrawi Republic) 23 September 2024 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Red Crescent confirmed that significant damage has affected homes and public buildings in Dakhla camp as a result of the rainfall in the Sahrawi refugee camps on September 22 and 23.

In a statement of which SPS obtained a copy, the Red Crescent clarified that the heavy rains in Dakhal refugee camp led to damages to the homes of some families, educational institutions, and the regional hospital, displacing around 350 families.
