Festivities marking 45th anniversary of Saharawi armed struggle opens in Tifariti

Tifariti (Liberated Territories), May 20, 2018 (SPS) - The festivities commemorating the 45th anniversary of the outbreak of the Saharawi armed struggle kicked off Sunday in Tifariti, in the presence of the president of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and secretary general of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali.
The celebrations have also been attended by delegations representing Saharawi provinces and institutions, international personalities, ambassadors from friendly countries and supporters of the Saharawi just cause.

President of Republic sends condolence message to President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez

Bir-Lehlu, May 19, 2018 (SPS) – President of Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, has sent a message of condolence to president of the Council of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, following the tragic aircraft crash just moments after it took off from Havana Jose Marti International Airport, in which several people lost their lives.

Human rights champion honoured

South African international climate activist and human rights defender Catherine Constantinides has been recognised by the Saharawi National Commission for Human Rights (CONASADH) as an honorary member.
She was awarded this membership earlier this week at the Saharawi refugee camps, south-west of Algeria. She has been working actively in the camps for the past four years.

Algiers, May 19, 2018 (SPS) - The Polisario Front will celebrate Sunday, in Tifariti, in the Sahrawi liberated territories the 45th anniversary of the outbreak of the Sahrawi armed struggle against the Moroccan occupation forces, a date which comes in a particular context marked by several diplomatic and legal victories snatched by the Sahrawi people, fighting for their right to self-determination.

Algiers, May 17, 2018 (SPS)- The ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) to Algiers Abdelkader Taleb Omar said Wednesday that the refugee camps and the Sahrawi liberated territories are open and transparent regions unlike the situation in Sahrawi territories occupied and besieged by Morocco.

University Students Federation of Uruguay praises Saharawi people struggle to their self-determination

Montevideo, May 16, 2018 (SPS) - The Federation of University Students of Uruguay (ASCEEP-FEUU), has expressed its solidarity with the just cause of the Saharawi people in a communiqué of the Federal Council of the Uruguayan student organization.
The Uruguayan student organization praised the enormous will of the Saharawi people to achieve "the objective of their self-determination and to end the criminal actions of the Kingdom of Morocco".

Algiers, May 15,  2018 (SPS) - The General Director of Algerian Press Agency (APS), Mr. Abdelhamid Kacha, received on Monday the Saharawi Ambassador in Algeria, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, accompanied by the Director of the Saharawi News Agency (SPS), Mr. Saleh Nafee.
The meeting discussed various aspects of cooperation in various fields, such as training, exchange of experiences and means of coordination between the two news agencies.

The Saharawi Minister of Foreign Affairs is received by the President of Namibia

Windhoek (NAMIBIA), May 15, 2018 (SPS) -the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Salem Ould Salek, was received Monday by the President of Namibia, Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob, to whom he delivered a message from his brother, President Brahim Gali.
The meeting, which was held at the Presidential Palace and in the presence of senior officials from Namibia, addressed the bilateral relations between the two countries and the latest developments in the process of decolonization of Western Sahara.
